About LTS

Spanning from Silicon Valley in the south to Seattle in the north, this

region contains the highest concentration of software

manufacturers and technology-focused corporations. Some of the

industry’s largest technology patent battles are fought here, spurring widespread need for eDiscovery

personnel with an educational background in technology.

Corporations involved in aerospace, entertainment, tourism, imports/exports, software manufacturing,

automotive, finance, biomedical, and regional logistics all drive the

need for greater eDiscovery compliance and response throughout the Southern

California marketplace.

The Midwest is home to over 120 Fortune 500 Corporations; many of which are taking more ownership of eDiscovery

processes thereby increasing the need for in-house eDiscovery professionals. Many of these corporations also lean on locally

based outside counsel and vendors for larger case needs.

eDiscovery Software Manufacturers and Vendors dominate the Arizona market. Corporations focused in Healthcare,

Retail, and Government are the largest employers. Energy, Oil, and Mining Corporations lead the growth in eDiscov-ery hiring throughout Texas. The Mountain and Southwest

Region is an affordable environment for Vendors to establish a presence and grow.

A large concentration of Fortune 500 Companies are based in Atlanta and the Carolinas, leading the surge in eDiscovery jobs in the Southeast Region. Of particular note, the U.S. Attorney’s Office has expanded its Litigation Technology Service Center in Columbia, SC, leading to an increase in government and vendor opportunities in this region.

The country’s largest megalopolis spanning the entire Northeast corridor is by far the industry’s richest market for job opportuni-ties in eDiscovery and Litigation Support. New York is home to the largest number of Top 200 AM Law Firms and Financial Institutions, while Washington DC is at the epicenter of all jobs within the Federal Government Agency space. Boston is home to some of the industry’s most prominent Software Manufacturers, Biotech, and Financial Institutions, where jobs within the eDiscovery market are also dominant.

The majority of eDiscovery professionals possess a background in technology and have obtained degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Develop-ment, and Management Infor-mation Systems, etc.

Records Management and Library Science educational backgrounds account for a mere 2% of eDiscovery professionals.

Nearly one-third of the working professionals within the eDiscovery field possess a background in an entirely unrelated educa-tional field, and have learned the industry as well as the technology while on-the-job.

Paralegals comprise the second largest group of

eDiscovery professionals.
