LOGLINE & PREMISE 

LOGLINE: The pillar-box waits for letters. After several false hopes he

finally gets one. He is jubilant.

PREMISE: The Pillar-Box waits in anticipation – he is hungry for letters.

After several false hopes he is despondent –

will it happen at all?

3 ACT STORY STRUCTURE 

Act 1:

The PILLAR BOX waits hopefully on the street corner. Approaching footstepslead him to anticipate a letter. As the footsteps pass he sags dejectedly.

The pillar-box pulls himself up as he hears more footsteps approaching. Asthe footsteps pass he becomes dejected again.

Act 2

:The pillar-box straightens up and waits alertly as he hears pattering footstepsapproach. He looks expectant. A dog barks, and the pillar-box looks down tosee a puddle spreading.

Act 3:

The pillar-box is slumped dejectedly. He lifts his slot hopefully a little whenhe hears footsteps approach. A hand appears with a letter in it, the pillar-boxstraightens up.

The hand posts the letter. The pillar-box gasps, stretches up, andpogos/cartwheels jubilantly.

STEP OUTLINE: 

1) Pillar box on the corner, alert, waiting

2) Approaching footsteps – pillar box becomes more alert, hopeful

3) Footsteps fade, pillar-box sags dejectedly.

4) Pillar-box on the corner, alert, waiting

5) Approaching footsteps – pillar-box becomes more alert, hopeful

6) Footsteps fade, pillar-box sags dejectedly.

7) Pillar-box on the corner, alert, waiting

8) Pattering Footsteps approach.

9) Pillar-box looks anticipatory.

10) Dog barks, and a puddle appears at the base of the pillar-box. (Looking down from pov of pillar-box)

11) Pillar-box slumps, depressed

12)Pillar-box looking extremely dejected

13) Pillar-box a little hopeful as footsteps approach.

14) A letter is posted (hands only).

15) Pillar-box gasps, stretches up, and pogos/cartwheels jubilantly.
