2. Have students retell the story with a partner.
3. Flip through the text with students, asking comprehension and vocabulary questions, while also checking their organizers along the way:

5. Share with students mini-posters that explain these text features.
6. Give each student a “National Geographic for Kids” magazine.
7. Have students share examples of other text features they found in their magazine and how these features would help them to understand the text in the magazine better.
