Features SAP hybris DAM offers a platform for rich media unification across the complete hybris portfolio. The following examples describe how SAP hybris DAM interacts with each hybris solution.

Ø hybris PCM User Use Case hybris PCM users (including hybris Next Generation) locate rich media in SAP hybris DAM by text searching asset metadata or browsing SAP hybris DAM folders. Once selected the user can preview the asset or even jump directly from hybris into SAP hybris DAM to further examine the asset (achieved with single sign-on).

hybris users can also upload directly and assign a default set of metadata passing the asset to SAP hybris DAM for processing.

Any number of media assets can be assigned to hybris product attribute and once assigned they are automatically converted to the required formats, all represented as hybris MediaItems supporting subsequent hybris catalog synchronization.

During assignment if the hybris user selects it, the asset can be automatically updated in hybris should a new version or modification to the asset occur in SAP hybris DAM. This capability leverages the event and notification services of SAP hybris DAM.

In the background, SAP hybris DAM automatically captures information regarding asset assignment for traceability storing data such as hybris product number and catalog data.

Ø hybris PCM batch Use Case SAP hybris DAM also provides a data migration tool for high-volume media import as well as Cron Jobs that can process association of products and DAM assets in automated batch mode.

Ø hybris CMS User Use Case SAP hybris DAM also supports hybris CMS cockpit where the commerce storefront is designed and deployed. This integration works in an identical fashion to the hybris PCM allowing the web designer to assign assets to any hybris generic CMS Item type, such as banner components in hybris WCMS Cockpit. Combined with the hybris PCM examples, this gives the customer the ability to manage both web and product content in a single location, ensuring consistency in the storefront presentation.

Ø hybris Marketing User Use Case SAP hybris DAM provides the ability to insert marketing content into hybris Marketing communications such as campaigns and email newsletters through a productized connector. The hybris Marketing user can browse or search for assets, select and choose from a list of predefined resolutions, which are then inserted into the Marketing collateral.

Ø Rich APIs and extensibility The solution provides both a native hybris Spring based Java API and source code examples to programmatically customize the processing of Media items in hybris as well as integration of any DAM workflow event.
