Admission Test
The admission test is available as a self-test in the form of a web-based test module. The admission test primarily serves to
convey a first impression of the actual exam procedures to candidates, to get them interested, and to eliminate possible
apprehensions or reluctance. These tests can be repeated any number of times.
Once you have completed a test, you can register directly using the form displayed on the screen. Shortly afterwards, you
will receive a Candidate ID with which you can apply for the theoretical exam.
Exam
1. Registration for the Exam
Registration for an exam requires a Candidate ID. This ID has to be requested for each certificate. Only then will
the exam be available at VUE. There are 2 (two) ways to request an ID: After passing the admission test and on the
detail page of each certificate. Please ensure you have entered your e-mail address correctly because the ID will be
sent to the address you specify there. The validation time of the ID is not limited. 2 (two) working days after you
get the ID, the exam will be activated and you can schedule your exam at a VUE test center.
Register now for the theoretical exam at the external company VUE: http://www.vue.com/unify, more details on
the ordering process can be found in Chapter 5 - Ordering.
2. Theoretical Exam
VUE has more than 5,200 test centers in 162 countries worldwide, making it easy to take the exam at a center near
you. To see exactly where your own local centers are, please visit http://www.vue.com. In many cases, the Pearson
VUE test center will be closer to your home than your normal work office.
You can designate a time and place for the test online or by using the VUE hotline which is available 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week.
Prior to taking the theoretical exam, candidates must remember to register. A Candidate ID is needed for
registration and test scheduling. This ID can be retrieved after passing the admission test or directly from the
detail page of each certificate.
If you pass the exam you will get an e-mail with your CertClub log-in data. After logging in, you can request a
printout of your certificate. Please check your personal data under "MyProfile", because the certificate will be sent
to the postal address you have registered.

Chapter 8 – FAQ
Here are Frequently Asked Questions for the Certification Subject.
How can I recertify my expired certification?
In order to recertify you simply need to retake the certification exam. You need to request a Candidate ID and afterwards
you can register directly at Pearson VUE and schedule your exam.
A detailed description on how to request a Candidate ID or how to register at Pearson VUE can be found in our Chapter 5
– Ordering.
Which levels exist?
Currently we offer two levels: UCCA and UCCP.
UCCA stands for Unify Certified Communications Associate. This is your entry level. Everyone with this certificate will
have a substantiated basic knowledge and will be able to use this knowledge when speaking to customers.
UCCP stands for Unify Certified Communications Professional. The holder of this certificate is able to consult, sell, or
service Siemens Open Communications products, services, and solutions in a professional manner.
Which is the right certificate for me?
Choose your certificate dependent on whether your background is in Sales, Consulting, or Service and whether you are
working with Small & Medium Business (SMB) or Large Account Business (LAB) customers. Then select your portfolio
area (e.g. OpenScape Voice).
Based on your state of knowledge now decide whether to go for the UCCA or the UCCP level certificate.
For each certificate we offer you an admission test to give you an impression of the particular degree of difficulty. This
admission test is cost-free and can be started as often as you like.
Must I first obtain the UCCA certificate to obtain certification as an UCCP?
No. You can absolve each certificate without any restrictions or further prerequisites.
In which languages can I take the tests for the certificates?
All learning materials and the exams are available in English and German. For certain certifications the exam is available
in multiple languages. Please check the "Language Dropdown" on the details site of your chosen certification to see all
available languages.
Why do I need a myTraining account?
The myTraining account is required to access the Academy for Professional Training course curricula and to request your
Candidate ID.

How can I prepare myself for the certificate exam?
Training is the most important means of transferring knowledge. The Unify Academy (http://www.unify.com/academy)
offers cost-effective, high-quality training, and modern learning solutions on a global base.
Getting access to Unify Academy offerings is very simple. Just visit the Unify Academy website and register to get your
personal myTraining account: http://www.unify.com/academy
Why do I have to request a Candidate ID for each certificate?
Requesting the Candidate ID activates the related certificate at our testing partner Pearson VUE for booking. Hence it is
necessary to request the ID for each exam you want to take. You can request the ID on each certificate's detail site.
Where can I take the exam?
The theoretical exam is a web-based test held under controlled conditions at Pearson VUE. Pearson VUE has more than
5,200 test centers in 162 countries across the world, which makes it easy to take the exam at a test center near you. To see
exactly where your own local centers are, please go to the following website:
http://pearsonvue.com/Unify/
You can designate a time and place for the test online or via the Pearson VUE hotline.
I already have a Pearson VUE account but the SEN certificates are not displayed.
Prerequisite for scheduling an exam at Pearson VUE is that you have requested your Candidate ID. Within 2 (two)
working days the data then are transmitted to Pearson VUE, and the exam will be displayed in your Pearson VUE account.
ATTENTION: For Unify Certification a separate account is necessary. Any existing accounts for e. g. Cisco exams generally
don't show the Unify certificates.
How much do I have to pay for one certificate?
At UCCA level the exam is available for € 167.00. At UCCP level the exam costs € 308.00. Retakes must be paid directly at
VUE. Those retakes cost only 50% of the standalone examination price and must be booked via the VUE hotline.
How can I pay?
In general there are two payment methods for an exam: Directly and indirectly. Using the indirect method you first order
an exam voucher before scheduling the exam. Payment is possible with credit card or - for Unify employees - via the
internal Org-ID. When registering for the exam at VUE this voucher can be used to pay the exam fee.
Direct payment is the other option when scheduling your exam at VUE. Here you can directly pay the exam fee with
credit card. In this case no voucher will be necessary.
What if my voucher has expired or got lost?
In general vouchers can't be replaced and the validity period can't be extended. Please contact our hotline in these cases:

How is the exam result calculated?
Every exam consists of several bundled subject areas, e.g. for the UCCA Open & Converged Networks Service certificate
there are three subject areas: Technology, Strategy, and Open Solutions & Portfolio. To pass the exam now, two conditions
must be satisfied.
1. 60% of the questions in each subject area must be answered correctly.
2. The exam must be completed in its entirety, with 80% of questions answered correctly.
What if I fail an exam?
Retaking an exam is possible, once for each try. Retakes cost only 50% of the standalone examination price and must be
booked directly by contacting Pearson VUE.
Example: 1st try for UCCA Sales SMB was not successful then the retry costs have 50% off. If the retry was not passed as
well, the 3rd try needs to be paid in full.
Afterwards there is a 50% discount again, and so on.
How can I access the 50% discount for an exam retake?
Retakes must be paid directly at Pearson VUE. Those retakes must be booked directly via their hotline. You can find more
information here:
http://vue.com/unify
How do I get my certificate?
After passing the exam you will get an automated e-mail with your log-in data for the CertClub. In "MyProfile" you can
check your personal data and request your printed certificate which will be sent to the entered address.
1. Log in to the Cert-Club homepage
www.unify.com/cert-club
2. Choose "MyProfile"; there please check your personal data.
3. Finally request your personal certificate.
How does recertification work?
The process is the same as if taking an exam for the first time. So just request your Candidate ID and schedule the exam
