Personal effects, such as jewellery, religious artefacts, w

atches, hair slides, sensory aids and so forth, m

ustbe removed for all practical activities. Jew

ellery cannot be taped over.

Pumps or canvas shoes of any kind are not acceptable. Trainers have a thicker sole for cushioning and

they provide more support to the feet during exercise. Any high top trainers m

ust be securely fastened right to the very top.

All long hair must be tied back securely during all activities and all jew

ellery must be rem

oved. Pupils m

ust bring their own bobbles. Bobbles w

ill be provided for those pupils who forget.

Nails m

ust be kept at a short safe length to avoid injury. Long false nails or acrylic nails are not acceptable in school w

ill be checked frequently in PE.

It is compulsory

that all pupils wear shin pads for football and recom

mended for hockey and is

recomm

ended that pupils wear gum

shields for hockey and rugby.

Showers are optional but it is highly recom

mended that pupils bring a tow

el and shower for hygiene

purposes, especially in poor wet w

eather.

All pupils w

ho are excused from PE should as norm

al produce a note signed and dated by a Parent/C

arer. In addition we w

ill expect pupils who are excused from

the practical ele-m

ent of the lesson, to bring their full PE kit and to change as normal. The relevant teacher

will find the pupil appropriate tasks to do w

ithin the lesson for example leading w

arm ups,

helping with equipm

ent, officiating, etc. Only in extrem

e circumstances (for exam

ple a bro-ken lim

b) will pupils not be expected to change for PE lessons, w

hich will be the teachers

discretion.

If pupils forget their kit then they must borrow

kit from the PE departm

ent and receive a C1

and a 5 minute sam

e day detention. All lent out kit is cleaned. Failure to com

ply will result

in more severe sanctions.
