Cisco Virtualization Experience Media Engine

• Virtualization Experience Media Engine, VXME, unifies voice, video, and virtual desktop in one device with software supporting high quality, scalable voice and video, delivering optimal user experience

• VXME introduces unique voice and video processing capabilities that eliminate the hairpin effect to allow for efficient use of network and data center resources.

• Start with third party Linux based client z50D or Windows based platforms that support deployment of VDI only with HDX/ICA & PCoIP for initial deployment before adding UC.

• UC enable third party Linux or Windows based platforms to support VDI, Voice, and Video deployment with Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix XenApp Published Desktops, and VMWare View

Cisco Jabber with VXME

• Create a new Client Services Framework device on Unified CM (Example device name would be VXC<username>, could be any device name convention desired).

• The end user (username) must have the following groups in it's permissions information: - Standard CTI Allow Call Park Monitoring

- Standard CTI Allow Control of Phones supporting Connected Xfer and conf

- Standard CTI Allow Control of Phones supporting Rollover Mode

- Standard CTI Enabled

• The end user must be associated with the line appearance - This is needed to allow the appropriate CCMCIP profile information to be associated for the correct device association

Cisco Jabber with VXME

• Cisco Virtualization Experience Media Engine installed on thin client or PC

• Cisco Jabber installed on the hosted virtual desktop (HVD)

• Each user should have only one Client Services Framework (CSF) device.

– If multiple CSF devices exist for a user, Cisco Virtualization Experience Media Engine selects the first device in the alphabetical list.

– A CSF device user can register with Unified CM from only one client at a time. Multiple registrations from multiple clients with the same CSF device are not supported.

• Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) protocol must be enabled for all virtual Cisco Jabber users.
