When Responding to an Issue, Students Need to Become Critical Thinkers!!

This Means:– Consider ALL Relevant Evidence– Make Reasoned Judgments– Base Judgment on Clear Criteria– Work on Developing the Character Traits, or Habits

of Mind, that Promote Effective Decision Making

• Read page Eight in it’s entirety.• From the examples on page Eight, choose three

Habits of Mind that you believe you already possess and write their names on a new page titled Habits of Mind.

• Now, choose three additional Habits of Mind that you believe you need to develop further.– Write these out also, including explanations as to why you need to

improve in these areas

– These will be referred to later in order to monitor your progress in developing these Habits – Don’t Lose Them!
