Philippians 3:19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.

Gluttony (Consumption Idolatry)

• Consumption for pleasure.• Consumption for comfort.

In either case the worshiper looks to a substance to provide only what Jesus is meant to provide.

Gluttony is “to die for.”

2 Peter 2:19 They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.

Gospel Hope

• Victory won’t come from self control.

• Victory wont come from asking God to take away your desire.

• Victory comes from cultivating desire that fulfills.

John 4 Living Water
