About Jindal School of Liberal Arts & Humanities (JSLH)

An interdisciplinary education is key to enabling students to discover cross-disciplinary connections and gain critical thinking skills. JSLH’s mission is to establish a hub for interdisciplinary learning in India that will produce successful professionals.

At the same time, the need for innovative thinking goes beyond its sanguine effect on students’ employment prospects. Our planet faces ecological and military crises that endanger all of humanity. The solutions to such overarching problems will have to go beyond the limited countryspecific varieties that have been formulated in the past. In short We need a new breed of leaders and JSLH seeks to become a place that will produce this next generation of leaders to confront our overarching problems. JSLH will seek to bring to life for students the underlying commonality which lies buried beneath the illusion of intractable differences.

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is a non-profit global university established by the Government of Haryana and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). JGU was established as a philanthropic initiative of its Founding Chancellor, Mr. Naveen Jindal in memory of his father, Mr. O.P. Jindal. JGU is one of the few universities in Asia that maintains a 1:13 faculty-student ratio and appoints faculty members from India and different parts of the world with outstanding academic qualifications and experience.

JGU is a research intensive university, which is deeply committed to its core institutional values of interdisciplinarity and innovative pedagogy; pluralism and rigorous scholarship; and globalism and international engagement.
