Part-Time InitiativeUHCC Initiative

56

Part-time learners face barriers classified as attitudinal, institutional, or situational.

Longer it takes to earn degree or transfer to a 4-year institution, lessens likelihood that a student will achieve success.

Part-time students enrolled in 6-8 credits per semester are a concern.

UHCC Part-Time Student Committee’s charge is to help the UHCC better understand needs, obstacles, and opportunities for success.

At its January 2013 meeting, ACCJC considered the colleges’ Institutional Self Evaluation Report and Report of the External Evaluation Team that visited six CCs during October 15-18, 2012. The Commission re-affirmed accreditation with an October 15th follow up report and visit for five colleges. The sixth college was placed on warning with a follow up report and visit.
