We are pleased to invite you to register for a comprehensive course in Gastroenterology &

Hepatology to be held at the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), London on

Wednesday 29th October 2014. This course is the primary event of the year for GPs, doctors-in-

training and nursing colleagues, showcasing the latest clinical developments in the field and

bringing together an impressive range of renowned speakers. The aim of the course is to provide

a strong foundation in the management of digestive diseases, for primary care professionals, which can be

translated to their day to day clinical practice.

The 1 day course has the following objectives:

• Clinically focused updates on a multitude of GI diseases commonly seen at index

presentation in primary care.

• Comprehensive evidence-based coverage (pertinent to primary care) of the diagnostic

algorithm, investigations and management of patients presenting with weight loss, reflux &

dyspepsia symptoms, diarrhoea, rectal bleeding, jaundice, ascites, incidental findings on

abdominal USS and asymptomatic deranged LFTs.

• Lecture contents mapped and cross-referenced between the RCGP curriculum in

digestive health and the JRCPTB curriculum in Gastroenterology & Hepatology to

optimise coverage of essential topics.

• Each topic illustrated by clinical scenarios, multiple choice question streams and

interactive key pad discussions to actively facilitate an interactive learning

experience. By the end of the course, you will:

• Identify areas of the RCGP curriculum and the majority of GI

presentations which have been covered within the course and apply them

to your own clinical practice.

• Apply learnt knowledge to the MRCGP exams.

• Have the knowledge to be able to contribute to the development of digestive

health services within your own primary care trust.

• Receive a course certificate to acknowledge attendance and to claim CPD points.
