Mr. Alford teaches animal husband­

ry and related subjects. He was award­

e d the M. S. degree in agriculture 01 the

University of Illinois in 1952. He was

graduate d from Weste rn with th e B.S.

degree in 1950, majoring in agriculture .

Since receiving the masters degree he

has been connected with the U. S. Soil

Conservation Se rvice in Warren Counly.

MRS. BLAKE CLARK - Library

Mrs. Clark, w ife of the administra­tor of the Bowling Gree n-Warre n Coun­ty hospital, is d irector of the pe riod ical room in th e college library. A notive of Idaho. she wos o warded the A. B. de­g ree by the University of Idaho in 1935 and has done graduate work 01 Wesl­e rn .

Mrs. Clark taught English a nd music in the schools of Idaho until she become a Girl Scout executive and camp director in Florida in 1940. Losl yeo r she served as librarian for the Warre n County Bookmobile.

The Clarks live at 848 Magnolia Ave nue with the ir thr.. sons, Blake, Bruce, and Craig .

GEORGE W. DOWNING - Mathematics Department

Mr. Downing was graduated from

West.rn in 1950 with the B. S. degree,

majoring in mathematics. H. was

DR. FREDERICK EBERSON - Biology Department and Director of Health Services

Dr. Ebe rson ha s the unusual dis'inc· tion of holding both the Ph . D. and the M.D. degrees. A native of New York he was awarded the B. S. degree by City Colle ge of New York in 1912. He wa s awarded the M. S. degree by Iowa State Colle ge in 1915. He w a s awarded the

Ph . D. degree by Columbia University in 1918 and Ihe M. S. and M. D. deg rees by the Unive rsi ty of Minn esota in 1924.

JAMES M. GOODMAN-Geogrophy ond Geology Department

Mr. Goodman, a native of Okla­

homa, was graduated from the Univer­

sity of Oklahoma in January. 1952,

with Q major in geography. In 1953 he

was awarded the M. S. degree in geog­

raphy by Northwestern University. He

entered the U. S. Air force in 1954 and

Mr . Lawre nce is a native of Win·

(hester, Ky . He was graduated from Winche.ter High School in 1937. After

Veterans Administration in WO l hington ,

D. C., as a supe rvilOr in the insurance

Dr. Page came to Welt.,n from the College of Ih e Ozark., Clarksville, Ar­kansas, where he was Director of Per­sonnel and Admiu ions ond head of the Deportme nt of Education and Psycholo­gy . He was awarded the A. 6 . degreo by Tulane Unive rsity in 1934. In 1941 he was awarded the M. A . degree by the University of Ke ntucky and the Ed . D. d e­gree by the University of Kansas in 1955.

Dr. Page is w e ll known in Kentucky having served a s a member of th e faculty at Transylvania College from 1936 until 1942.

He and his wife, Wanda Wayne , live at 1676 Normal Drive with their daughter, Sarah Jane, 4.

BILLY S. SMITH - Business Manager

Mr. Smith was graduated by the Unive rsity of Ke ntucky College of Com­me rce in 1949. He joined the Com­monwealth of Kentucky as on auditor in th e De partme nl of Economic Security in february , 1950. He remaine d in this post until April , 1954, when he be came assistant director of the Division of Ac­counts in the Stale De partme nt of Fi. nonce. On Mo y 1, this year he be come consultant accountant in the Division of th e Budget.

A native of Lexington, Mr. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Smith , Paris, Ke ntucky . He and his wife, Edith Shirle y, with the ir four childre n, Linda Faye, 9 ; Carolyn Louise, 7 ; Kathy Elaine, 3; and John William , 1, re sid e at 308 Marylon Drive.

DR. CHARLES E. WH ITTLE JR. - Physics Department

Dr. Whittle was awarded the Ph . D. de gree by Washington Un iversity at St. louis in 1953. He was graduated from Ce ntre College in 1949 with the A. B. deg~ee , majoring in physics. A native of Brownsv ille, Ke ntucky , he wa s grad­uated from Brownsville High School in 1946. He went to the Netherlands in 1954 for one ye a r unde r a Fulbright Scholarship and a Research Corporation Grant fo r research in low t !! mpe rature­n ucl ear physics. He came to Western From the Union Ca rbide and Che mical Corporation in New York City.

He is the son of Charle s E. Whittle Sr., Brownsvill e attorn ey and former p resident of Ogde n Colle ge. He and his w iFe, Suzanne, live at Smiths Grove, Ky., with thei r three childre n, Charl es E. III , 3; lau ra Jane. 2; and J essica Su zanne, 1.

MANUEL WILKERSON - Chemistry Department

Mr. Wilkerson wa s awarded th e B. S.
