35,671 cattle slaughtered this week, of which steers were 13,162 (37%),heifers 11,131 (31%), young bulls 3,287 (9%) and cows 7,333 (21%). Total YTD slaughter is 388,820 compared to 391,634 in 2019, a 0.7% decrease.

18,345 cattle were exported in the week commencing 02/03/2020, 15,267 to EU (Except NI). Live exports for 2020 amount to 54,576 compared to 58,205 in 2019.

The Grade E Pig price Week Commencing 9/3/2020 was €185.50per 100Kg compared to €140.96 in the same week last year, which represents a 31.6% increase.

71,608 pigs were slaughtered in week 11 of which 1,910 were sows. Thecumulative figure for pig slaughterings in 2020 is 733,971 which isa 2% decrease with the same point last year.

The national average price for the week commencing 9/3/2020 was €517.35 per 100Kg, an increase of 10.7% over the same week last year.the same week last year.

55,147 sheep were slaughtered at sheep export premises the week commencing 9/3/2020, compared to 38,102 in the same week of 2019Sheep slaughterings for 2020 are 15% up on 2019 at 551,260 head.

Cumulative poultry slaughterings for 2020* stand at 20,618,886 birds atthe end of week 10, up 1.3% compared to the same period last year.
