MCR2030 Webinar Series: Getting to knowthe City Climate Finance Gap Fund
The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate andEnergy (GCoM) has o�cially joined the MCR2030initiative, and held a webinar on the City ClimateFinance Gap Fund (Gap Fund), in partnershipwith UNDRR, the European Investment Bank, andthe World Bank. During the session, participantslearned about the Gap Fund, its goals and howto access funding. The technical assistance isavailable to countries on the OECD DAC list.

The Committee of Users for Safe, Secure and Resilient Societies (CoU) was founded in 2014. Since then, the CoU has signi�cantly grown and is now transformed into the Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS), an informal platform under DG HOME’s lead. Milan at the MCR2030: Transforming streets withtactical urbanism.
Milan joined the MCR2030 initiative in August2021. It aims to serve as an inspiration for othercities and hopes that the initiative will help inexchanging knowledge, experiences, and goodpractices. In this article, the city shares itsexperience adapting to climate change and otherrisks challenges. In the past years, Milan movedtowards a cross-sectoral ecological transition tobecoming a greener, more resilient, and livablecity. Among the different solutions, themunicipality decided to make use of the so-called Nature-based Solutions approach (NBS) toincrease its adaption capacity. Read more
MCR2030 Updates
In the past month, Torres Vedras(Portugal), Vracar and Obrenovac(Serbia), Shkodra (Albania), Milan (Italy),Dushanbe (Tajikistan), and Silves(Portugal) joined the MCR2030initiative.
The Initiative also welcomed Nationalpartners, including the PublicInvestment Management O�ce ofSerbia, the Disaster and EmergencyManagement Presidency of Turkey, theAssociation of Albanian Municipalities,as well as new supporting entities fromthe UN System - UNDP, and internationalpartners the Global Covenant of Mayorsfor Climate and Energy, all making acommitment to support cities in buildingresilience.
The UN O�ce for Disaster Risk Reduction(UNDRR) works towards the substantialreduction of disaster risk and losses toensure a sustainable future.
UNDRR is the focal point of the UnitedNations system for disaster risk reductionand the custodian of the SendaiFramework, supporting countries andsocieties in its implementation, monitoringand review of progress.

Increasing resilience in Europe and Central Asia in the face of growing climate impacts
