There are three main types of speeches

1.The informative speech

2. The persuasive speech

3. Speeches for special occasions

THE INFORMATIVE SPEECH

The main purpose behind an informative speech is to deliver the information or message clearly to the audience.

An informative speech should contain useful information that is unique for the audience and draws their attention

towards the speech.

Types of informative speech

Speeches about objects: Speeches about objects include those about people, places, animals, structures, etc.

Speeches about events: Events are happening or occurrences, both past and present.

Speeches about concepts:Concepts are ideas, philosophies, and arguments.

Speeches about processes:Is how something is made, how something is done or how something works.

The persuasive speech

A persuasive speech is an oral argument designed and presented to convince or influence the listener to do a specific thing, such as vote for a certain candidate or

support a cause.

Types of persuasive speech

Examples of questions of policy:Are smokers being unfairly singled out for higher taxation

Examples of questions of value.

do people have the right to choose to die whith dignity?

Speeches for special occasions

It is usefull for special moments for examples birthday, graduations, weddings and more.

Point to keep in mind

The speech must fit the occasion.

The speech must meet the allotted time.

Intended remarks must be accurate.
