INTRODUCTION
I was allotted industry/practice based started w.e.f 15th june to 25th july 2009. of 45 days duration
at “TATA MOTORS” as subject to partial fulfillment of B.Tech. Degree associated with 2nd year
from PTU jalander.
This project was mainly based on :
Repair & maintenance of cars.
TATA cars are modern generation total intion vehicals.
TATA cars run below 4.5-5 lacs
Main models of TATA cars are:
1) TATA INDICA
2) TATA INDIGO
3) TATA SAFARI
4) TATA SUMO
5) TATA NANO

SOME SAFETY PRECAUTIONS TO BE OBSERVED IN THE WORKSHOP
Always ensure that all the repair/ maintain work carried out should be as per instructions
provided into the workshop manual.
Use protecting clothes, apron, hand gloves and safety shoes while working in the workshop.
Don’t wear rings and belt while serving the vehicles
Keep your work area, equipment & tools clean at all times.
Make sure you see the proper tool for the job &use it the write way. The improper tool can
damage the part you can damage the part you are working on or cause or both.
Never keep the tool on vehicles. The tool should be kept in the tool box after use.
Cover fenders, seats, steering wheel any other parts those are likely to get soiled before starting
any service work.
Prior the removing parts, they must be inspected carefully to isolate the cause for which the
service is caused for .
Never reuse the parts like off scales, gaskets, packing, orings, locking washers, self locking nuts
& other parts.
Plug the ports /opening of aggregates such as FIP/injectors, TMC etc, wheneven removed from
the care.
For correct reinstallations of vacuumfuel hoses attached a tag describing the correct position.
Make sure only the recommended lubricant, coolent, corrosion protection coating & sealant are
used
