EXT. TYRINNS CAR IS DRIVING THROUGH A NEIGHBORHOOD.

TYRINN MACK, 23, African-American, grad student, neatlydressed and slightly nervous is driving the car.

His boyfriend, DAKOTA CARTER, 24, White, bohemian Art studentsits causally on the passenger side.

Dakota looks over at Tyrinn and smiles.

DAKOTAI cant believe Im finally meetingyour mom on her birthday.

TYRINNIts her Un-Birthday. After turningfifty, she refuses to get older.Shes just accepting gifts at thispoint.

Tyrinns mother, JEANNIE HUTCHSON, 51, decorous, sits in themiddle of her two sisters; GERTRUDE AUNT GERTIE MACK, 48,meddlesome and RUBYANNE AUNT RUBY WESLEY, 54, forthrightand very settled in her ways.

They are chatting until Tyrinn and Dakota enters the room.

Jeannie is sipping a GLASS OF WINE alone. The room is quietand faintly lit from the candlelight.

The GRANDFATHER CLOCK reads eleven thirty-four.

She places her GLASS on the table and looks over at her gift

Tyrinn and Dakota brought her.

She stares at the gift for a few seconds, before getting upto get it.

Jeannie picks it up and daintily opens it. Once the gift isopen, Jeannie is in awe.

The gift is a PAINTING OF JEANNIE HOLDING A TYRINN AS A BABY.

Jeannie continues studying the painting.

She focuses on the picture of Tyrinn.Then Jeannie looks off to the side as a tear falls from hereyes.
