This and That… MaryTheresa Conca is doing great in her transition among us as Faith Formation Director! I hope you got to hear her introduce herself at the masses last weekend. I encourage all to register now for our CCD classes. We have an excellent team of talented catechists to help supplement the teaching of the faith at home. Registration forms are online or at the church entrances. As you have seen, we were blessed to confirm four university students two weeks ago at Last Call Mass. Also, we received a wonderful teen for Baptism and First Holy Communion at St. Thomas More last Saturday (see photo). The Holy Spirit continues to move in the hearts and minds of our young people. We continue to have lots of progress on our Capital Campaign projects. Pariseault Construction has been hired some months ago as the Project Manager. Both projects are moving along in their planning and design and research phases. I anticipate that the St. Thomas More parish hall will see construction begin this fall! We continue to make progress on the engineering for the St. Veronica parking lot. I did want to share with you what services have cost us in the design and planning phases thus far. We have paid O’Hearne Architects a total of $65,294 for the research and design, design development and contract documents. This represents 75% of the work they will do. Casali Engineering has been paid $43,730, which is 50% of their contract services. This included pre-design services, schematic design, site permitting and construction documents and professional geotechnical engineering services. I am getting excited that we are coming so much closer to the dreams of our parish family becoming a reality. As I thank God this week in a special way for the calling to priesthood and to be your Pastor, I ask that you help me to celebrate by praying for vocations to priestly life and that Our Lord may bring another priest among us to help serve. Praying for all your deepest intentions. Please pray for mine!
