TOUCH FOOTY GALA COMPETITION
Last Friday the students in Years 3-6 travelled to Yamba to participate in a touch football gala
day. All the children enjoyed the challenge. The most valued player for Year 3/4 was Jaxon
Moran and most valued player for Year 5/6 was Archie Carter. Great job boys!
LIFE EDUCATION VAN
We all had an enjoyable Monday this week with the arrival of the Life Education Van. Sam and
Happy, Healthy Harold conducted two very informative sessions for the students based on
Personal Development and Healthy Lifestyles. The children responded positively to the key
messages and strategies shared. They included living in a smoke free society & safe and
healthy living.
P & C TRIVIA NIGHT
On Saturday the P&C held a Trivia Night at the Tucabia Hall. It was a great success with over
100 people participating. The P & C raised over $900 on the night with additional funds still
being tallied. A thank you to all the people who supported the event with special mention of
Amy Moran and Elle Chellew for their tireless and efficient organisation. The ladies have also
been extremely busy collating a 2016 School Calendar that promotes local businesses. These
are being sold for only $15 at the School office with copies also available at the Tucabia Shop.
Pick up a copy of this great calendar now for your own use or as a Christmas gift.
SCIENCE DAY
On Tuesday Mrs Libby Lund conducted a fun Science activity day. The students were
placed in multi-age groups and ventured between nine experimental tasks. The focus was
on the concept ‘light’ and included tasks about the colour spectrum, heat, transparency
and a kaleidoscope. The day also included a Science trivia quiz and a yummy morning tea.
Congratulations Mrs Lund, it was a fabulous day enjoyed by the students, the staff and
the many family members who joined us.
MULLAWAY MUSICAL EXCURSION
On Tuesday the 15th September the K-6 students will spend an entertaining day at
Mullaway PS participating in a range of fun, learning activities. This will include an
environmental headland walk; active Maths activities and the viewing of a school musical,

interact with students from another community. Further details are on the attached note.
