RSP, DSP, ISP & BSL. b) Physical and chemical specifications stipulated by buyers The entire production from ML -139 lease, will be supplied to all the integrated steel plants of SAIL viz. i RSP, DSP, ISP & BSL.The chemical & physical specifications of RSPfor lump & fine ores are given below:- Parameters Lumps Fines Fe% 63 63 Si0 2 % 2.0 2.5 A1 2 0 3 % 2.7 3.0 Lumps +10-40 mm Fines I -10 mm c) Details in case blending of different grades of ores is being practiced or is to be practiced at the mine to meet specifications stipulated by buyers. The entire ore sorting at ML 139 will be done manually. The average size of ROM ore picked will be of 300mm. The sorted ore will be stacked on the bench itself. Representative samples from the stacks will be taken which will be analyzed in the laboratory at Kalta. The ore from these stacks will be judiciously blended for proper quality control. 9.0THER a) Site services: All services provided at the Kalta Iron Ore Mine (KIM) will be common for ML -130,139 & 227 leases. Industrial Services: Power: Electric power supply is received through a 11 KVA feeder from the Orissa State Electricity Board Sub-Station at Tensa. It is stepped down to 440 V in two sub-stations. One 500 KVA transformer is located in the Colony sub-station, while one 500 KVA and two 250 KVA transformers, are located at the Mining sub-stations at the hill top. Workshop Facilities: The Kalta Mine has a Field Maintenance and Repair Shop for routine jobs. Major repairs are undertaken at neighbouring Barsua Mine of the Company. 7.0 MarketingThe entire production of iron ore from ML 139 lease is linked to all the integrated steelplants of SAIL.

8.0 InfrastructureAll services provided at the Kalta Iron Ore Mine (KIM) will be common for ML - 130, 139& 227 leases.Industrial Services:Power: Electric power supply is received through a 11 KVAfeeder from the OrissaStateElectricity Board Sub-Station at Tensa. It is stepped down to 440 V in two sub-stations.One 500 KVAtransformer is located in the Colony sub-station, while one 500 KVAandtwo 250 KVAtransformers, are located at the Mining sub-stations at the hill top.Workshop Facilities: The Kalta Mine has a Field Maintenance and Repair Shop forroutine jobs. Major repairs are undertaken at neighbouring Barsua Mine of theCompany.Water Supply: For meeting water requirements at KaltaComplex, the management havecreated a 1,500 m3 impoundment by constructing a weir in the Najkura Nala (whichflows near the property), from where about 250 kL of water is pumped every day.However, as this source of water is depleting;-fw'o alternatives are under activeconsideration: (1) Tapping ground water through boreholes and submersible pumps,and/or (ii) Drawing water from the Samaj Nala which is also a perennial nala. Inaddition, across the road from the Kalta Mine Office, there is an old Prospecting Camp.This camp has 29 m deep artesian well which gives a continuous flow of water underartesian pressure through a 5 cm dia. pipe. This water is sufficient to meet therequirement of the residents aswell as those of nearby basti.Other Support Facilities: All the Servicesand facilities required under the Mine Act (andthe regulations, Rulesand Bye-laws made there under) have been provided at the KaltaMine. These include a Vocational Training Centre, Rest Shelters, First Aid Stations, aCanteen, an Explosive Magazines, etc. In addition, a site office and public conveniencesare also provided.Township and Municipal Facilities:A small township, spread over 33.9 ha of land outside the mining lease area of ML - 130has been developed in the K·aft~·Valley.It has 163 pucca houses and 102 temporaryunits (making 265 residential units in all), and has been provided with all municipalfacilities. The township has its own marketing centre, in addition to the weekly hatia, aco-operative store is also functioning in the colony. Medical facilities are providedthrough an 18 bed hospital, staffed with three doctors and 23 para-medical & publichealth person~~1.There are two schools in the township, one high School and oneMiddle School.For recreation, a Community Centre and a Multi-Purpose Centre have been providedbesides a cable T.V network. Public utility services in the township include a bank, a post ~
