IF you are aged in your early 20s you are more likely to get a free kick in the WAFL!

You are also getting more hit outs in season 2012 after 11 rounds than the teenagers or players in their late 20s or 30s.

Heading into Round 12 the Football Budget has broken the stats down using age categories and focussed on the top 20 in each statistical category.

The first age group is the teenagers, then we have players in their early 20s (20-25), late 20s (26-29) and finishing with those aged 30 and above.

When it comes to being awarded a free kick by the whistleblowers, 12 of the top 20 recipients so far are aged in their early 20s.

The leader of the pack in this category is Claremont’s Jake Murphy. The 22-year-old has been awarded 25 free kicks, while 25-year-old East Fremantle midfielder Rory O’Brien is next with 22.

While the majority of players in the WAFL are aged somewhere in their 20s, only one player in the older age bracket has extracted a number of free kicks and that is 30-year-old Royal Michael Swan who ranks fourth and has been given 20 free kicks.

As for the young guns of the competition, teenagers feature in three of the eight main statistical categories – disposals, kicks, handballs, marks, goals, frees for, frees against and hit outs.

Nineteen-year-old West Perth midfielder Aaron Black is the only player under the age of 20 to feature in the top 20 mark-takers so far this season having taken 51, while East Fremantle’s Max Duffy, 19, is the only teenager ranking in the top 20 goalkickers with 18 majors so far this season.

When it comes to big men, two 19-year-olds are among the leaders in the hit outs

category, with Peel duo Mitchell Leyendekkers and Scott Lycett having had 158 and 85 hit outs respectively.

Black, a Christmas Day baby, made his debut for the Falcons in 2010 and modestly credits the Falcons game plan with his high marking tally.

“Our game plan involves using the ball by foot a lot so as a result if you get yourself into good position you can take a few marks,” said Black who is studying to become a physical education teacher.

“For me now though I need to take the game on more and run forward and kick more goals. That all comes with confidence and that’s building with every game I play.

“I’ve kicked goals in the last four games but I need to do more of that if I want to take my game to the next level.”

Black played in the Falcons Foxtel Cup win against Ainslie in April and is in the squad to take on Werribee in a quarter final of the national competition this Saturday at the MCG. The game will be the curtain-raiser to the Richmond and Fremantle clash.

“I’ve thought a little bit about playing at the MCG but to be honest, for me and for the team, while we want to win that game we are focussed on the following week in the WAFL against Perth,” he said.

“Last Monday was a big game for us and we really needed to win to get our season back on track. While getting two points was better than getting none,

we need to focus on the games ahead and get some wins on the board.”

When it comes to total disposals, there’s no splitting the early and late 20s, with both age groups having nine players represented in the top 20 after Round 11.

There are two players in their 30s (South Fremantle’s Kris Miller and Perth’s Leon Davis) in there too, while no teenagers feature among the leading ball magnets.

At the age of 31 Miller is fifth in the league in terms of disposals (238), while 30-year-old Davis is 19th with 204.

Other players in their 30s still mixing it when it comes to stats leaders are 30-year-old Claremont forward Medhurst (second in marks with 66, fourth in goals with 22, second in frees against with 16 and ninth in kicks with 137); Miller has the most handballs in the comp with 127 and the 18th most frees against with 12); Davis is seventh in terms of kicks with 146; 31-year-old Bulldog Paul Mugambwa is 18th in goals with 14 and 31-year-old Subiaco forward Des Headland is 20th in the same category with 13.

WAFL’s 25 Best Players Over the Past 25 Years

8

// Brad Smith

WHENEVER the name Brad Smith arises in general talks about the best WA footballers, there are usually two main areas of discussion.

The first is that most people would love to have seen him get a chance to prove himself at AFL level.

The second is that the reluctant ‘hero’ will forever be remembered as one of the WAFL’s greatest goal kickers during Subiaco’s most successful premiership era.

Earlier this year Smith’s induction as one of the Top 25 Players Over the Past 25 Years was testament to his dominance over a career that started in 1998 and ended in 2009.

It’s not that the four-time Bernie Naylor medallist (the WAFL leading goalkicker) wasn’t given an opportunity – it’s just that his knees let him down.

Smith had played 77 WAFL games for Subiaco by the end of 2004 and won the goalkicking twice and kicked five goals in the Lions’ 2004 premiership win when West Coast backed him to fit into their forward structure and drafted him at pick 57 in the 2004 AFL draft.

But an AFL career was to forever elude the likable lad who is the son of former Geelong and West Perth forward Phil Smith.

Two knee reconstructions over the next two seasons ended any dreams Smith had of making it at the next level.

But in a move that further added to his credentials of being one of WA’s most revered footballers, he returned to play with Subiaco in 2007 and while injury kept him out of the Lions’ 2006 premiership side, he came back to kick seven in the winning 2007 premiership side (winning the Simpson Medal as the best on ground) and six in the victorious 2008 team.

He lined up at full forward for the Lions in the grand final in 2009 but was held goalless

by Tracey Lewis

and the Lions went on to be beaten by South Fremantle. He was also part of the losing 2003 grand final side after injuring a knee early and not able to contribute to the scoresheet.

Aidan Parker, a fellow Top 25 inductee and former premiership teammate of Smith’s, said the unassuming forward was the best he has ever played with or against.

“He was far and away the best forward I’ve seen in the WAFL,” said the current Subiaco captain.

“He had, and still has, a lot of respect around the footy club. Brad was always professional and aggressive in the way he went about his

footy and one of the most passionate Subiaco people you will ever meet.

“His dad Phil instilled in him that you treat everyone the same no matter what their reputation and that’s exactly how he is.

“The way he came back from those two knee reconstructions to continue having a massive impact on the club was incredible and that’s why he is so respected around the club and in footy circles in general.

“It was so amazing to be a part of a team where somedays you could sit back in the backline and watch Brad and the likes of Ali Pickett go to work.”

Andrew: Throughout the various media season previews many tipsters had Swans fi nishing out of the top four. How have you improved so much from last year?

Tom: This year we have most of our best players fit and on the field each week. The team took a year to gel together and this year we have seen some great results from the group.

Andrew: How did you end up joining Swan Districts?

Tom: I originally came from North Ballarat in the VFL. Swans showed interest in me and once I left Richmond I came over to experience Perth and look at the opportunities that Swans offered me. It looked fantastic, so I decided to make the move interstate and haven’t looked back.

Andrew: Wesley Lammie is currently leading the competition in hit-outs, is he AFL potential?

Tom: Definitely! Quality ruckmen are hard to find and he has shown some great improvement as a player this year. He is such a prolific runner and very dedicated to his footy. If he can keep improving at a similar rate, he will more than likely get drafted.

Former West Coast and Perth key forward Andrew McDougall gets up close and personal with former AFL players in the WAFL. This week the director of the Australian Institute of Football questions former Richmond Tigers wingman Tom Roach who is currently playing with Swan Districts.

Andrew: Who are the three best players you played with at Richmond?

Tom: Matthew Richardson, Wayne Campbell and Brett Deledio.

Andrew: Who is the hardest player you have played on in the WAFL this year?

Tom: Craig Wulff.

Andrew: Your father Michael was a Richmond legend, does he still follow the club and get to the games?

Tom: Yes. He is still a strong supporter of the club and gets to most of the home games.

Andrew: You are employed by West Coast, what is your role there?

Tom: I am the Schools and Community Development Officer. My job involves going out to schools where we run football and educational programs.

Andrew: Have you ever seen anyone dominate a game like Andrew Krakouer did in the grand fi nal win in 2010?

Tom: No, not to the extent that he did. He dominated that game and pretty much won it for us.

Andrew: Is Claremont the team to beat this year?

Tom: Yes! The Tigers are the best side at present and East Fremantle is right up there too when all of the AFL boys are in the side.

Andrew: What do you enjoy about living in Perth?

Andrew: How is former Peel and Subiaco player Shaun Hildebrandt going at the club this year?

Tom: Really well. He is a fantastic player and it was great to have him come to our side this year. He plays on the opposite wing and is giving me a lot of support on field. School Holiday

// Members of the Bendigo Bank Maali Academy at a recent training session.

The next batch of Swan Districts Football Club (SDFC) stars are coming on in leaps and bounds at the Bendigo Bank Maali Academy at John Reid Oval in Forrestfi eld.

The program, which provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander boys aged nine to 18 with a range of personal development sessions, is starting to make its mark, with more than 15 boys participating on a weekly basis.

The personal development sessions touched on several key topics including drug, alcohol and crime awareness, goal-setting, self-esteem, and positive affirmations just to name a few.

The boys were given a chance to show their wares in the AFL 9’s Maali Cup, a six-month competition which will lead into the 2013 Nicky Winmar Cup and potential exhibition matches in the Swans District Junior Competition.

The boys are already showing signs of leadership potential and maturity over the past four months and the Maali Academy, which is proudly supported by Bendigo Bank’s Forrestfield and High Wycombe Branches, as well as Forrestfield Football Club, is looking forward to seeing these boys develop as solid role models for their community.

The Bendigo Bank Maali Academy, which is also open to non-Indigenous boys in the suburbs of Forrestfield, High Wycombe, Kalamunda and Maida Vale, embraces natural talent whilst teaching life skills in a safe and

positive environment. The Bendigo Bank Maali Academy also acts as a mentoring support program, which utilises football as a tool to engage participants in the Swans District Junior Competition.

V Swans Community Development Officer, Danny Penny and WAFC District Manager for the Swans District, Isaac Stewart, utilise positive role models and special guest speakers throughout the course of the program to ensure maximum engagement and participation.

Some of the role models and guest speakers include SDFC stars Jarrhan Jacky, Marlon Motlop and Michael Walters and league coach Greg Harding.

The program will also utililse local Indigenous Elders to build strong links and relationships with all the participants and their families.

The Maali Academy also hopes to develop greater awareness of the WAFL coaching, playing and umpiring pathways, thus generating a greater sense of wellbeing amongst participants.

The Maali Academy recognises the support of its principal sponsor Bendigo Bank Forrestfield and High Wycombe Branch and key community partners including the Swans District Football Development Council (SDFDC), SDFC, V Swans, West Australian Football Commission (WAFC), Forrestfield Football Club and the Shire of Kalamunda.

The heavy weights of the WA Women’s Football League go head to head this weekend in what is shaping up to be the match of the home and away season for 2012.

Under lights at Medibank Stadium at 5.15pm on Saturday, June 9, the undefeated Coastal Titans will host their rivals the East Fremantle Sharks.

After a massive grand final match in 2011, which saw the Sharks run over the Titans in the last quarter, the Titans have hit the 2012 season in dominating fashion to be the only team in the competition still undefeated.

They will go into Saturday night’s clash as the favourites over the Sharks.

However, after only defeating the Sharks in the opening round by 12 points, the Titans will definitely not be taking this match lightly.

The Titans will be looking to their calm and collected captain, 2009 State and All Australian player, Lauren Stammers, in the midfield to earn the well needed centre clearances and get the ball inside their forward 50m.

State 18s go down

Season 2011 WA player Dana Hooker could also create headaches for the Sharks if she gets the ball in her hands.

Striving to break the Titans’ winning streak, the Sharks will be heading into the match equally as determined to take the points on Saturday night.

With current Debbie Lee Medallist, Kirby Bentley, and back-to-back WAWFL Fairest and Best winner, Mel Caulfield, the Sharks will be looking to benefit from their experience, as they have proved in the past to be influential game changers in tight matches.

With an extensive list of talent including five 2011 All Australian players, 17 players from the 2011 State Open team, nine from the U18’s National Championship in May and three State School Girls representatives, it is sure to be a thriller with lots of talent and skills on show.

The girls will be throwing everything they have into the match to ensure their team comes away with the four points.

The WA State 18s lost their fi rst game of the 2012 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, going down in an upset to Queensland by two points.

Their next test is this Saturday, June 9 against NSW/ACT at Arena Joondalup at 12pm.

There are a few companies who clearly recognised the value of linking their brands to the WAFL in its heyday.

Among those who produced several pieces of WAFL memorabilia are the oil companies, like Mobil and Shell.

But Twisties was another company which regularly produced WAFL memorabilia, like the rare little cards which appeared in this column a few weeks ago or the plastic badges which I wrote about last year

All of these were produced in the late 1960s and this next lot of Twisties collectables was probably produced around the same time.

Finally for this week, there have been a few interesting auction results in recent weeks, especially concerning programs.

A 1979 Escort Championships program from the match between Richmond and Subiaco sold for just under $75 last Sunday, while a program from the 1967 game between West Perth and the Avon Football Association (signed by Mel Whinnen and Bill Dempsey) fetched almost $125.

And a small itinerary for Port Adelaide’s trip to WA in 1913 sold for a tick over $85.

A couple of interesting items were shown to me recently which reminded me that the football community has always looked after its own.

The first was a little button belonging to South Fremantle supporter Tom, who said he had had it for many years.

It features a photograph of Ron Doig – from the famous Fremantle footballing family – and the words “Ron Doig Memorial Fund 1932”.

Doig was captain-coach of South Fremantle, despite being just 23, when he died after the Southerners’ narrow first semi-final loss to East Perth that year.

He was injured during the game, but played on. It wasn’t until he fell ill that night that he was taken to hospital, where he died.

Within days, a plan to memorialise Doig was hatched. Money would be raised from the public to build an out-patients’ ward at Fremantle Hospital.

The State Government agreed to match

the donations received and it seemed as though every sporting organisation in the country was prepared to hold an event to raise money.

The Ron Doig Memorial wing was built at a cost of more than £7000 and was opened in August, 1934.

Tom’s badge is the only piece of memorabilia I have seen relating to either Doig or the memorial fund and is an important piece of South Fremantle’s history.

I’m not sure it would be a particularly valuable WAFL collectable, but it’s really impossible to tell with this one. Either way, I wouldn’t mind having one in my collection.

The second item is somewhat similar in nature and from a similar time.

Swan Districts footballer Hugh Forbes was badly injured when he was involved in a car crash while driving home from a game against Claremont in 1936.

He spent many months in hospital and

Auction results

Companies and WAFL branding These were little pendants which featured logos for clubs from the WAFL, VFL, SANFL and QFL.

The West Perth pendant looks like Polly Farmer, who coached the Cardinals from 1969-1971, which is probably the reason collectors claim they are from this era.

Either way, they are definitely sought-after and the anonymous collector who showed me his full set is probably sitting on up to $200-worth.

As always, condition is extremely important if you are hoping for top dollar. But, whatever condition these are in, you wouldn’t have any real difficulty finding a buyer.

the club organised a one-off benefit match at Bassendean Oval, which was played after the season had finished.

The teams were made up of WAFL players – one with players who also had VFL or SANFL experience and the other with players who had only played in WA.

The team lists in the program included some of the champions of WA football, including George Moloney, Jack Cashman and John Leonard, while George “Staunch” Owens umpired.

Again, it’s difficult to know how much this one is worth. It’s not in the greatest nick, but is extremely rare and would be sought after by collectors of Swan Districts memorabilia. Perhaps $100, but I would be interested to see how it went at auction.

EAST PERTH V CLAREMONTMedibank StadiumIn what is shaping up to be a blockbuster Sunday clash, Claremont will be looking to distance itself from East Perth who could usurp top spot with a win this week.

The ladder leaders were stunned by Peel, though they were mostly let down by inaccuracies and lacklustre fourth quarter defence. The Tigers were unable to take advantage of Peel’s errors and make an impact on the scoreboard, falling off in the final term.

Claremont however will not make the same mistakes twice, and will be ready to fight until the last minute against the Royals who showed plenty of guts by extracting an improbable draw against their derby rivals last week. Big men Paul Johnson and Mitch Andrews will be vital in the middle for their respective sides as they fight to get their midfielders first use of the ball.

The Royals have played strongly this year, their opening round game against the Tigers showing early on their formidable and open style.

Playing mostly on the wings could allow the Royals to tire out the Tigers, as the Royals have been able to sustain their high level of intensity throughout a

game while attacking across the ground.

With a strong inside presence and talent on the wings in Freddie Clutterbuck and Craig Wulff the Royals will give the Tigers match-up challenges.

Overall record: East Perth won 145, Claremont won 114, Drawn 2

SUBIACO V PERTHMedibank StadiumSubiaco will want to avoid falling further behind the top four, though Perth will no doubt provide the Lions with a tough challenge.

The Demons were forced into a physical contest by the Swans, though the style seemed to suite them at times, staying competitive for three of four quarters. While losing Paul Bevan and his defensive influence will be a heavy loss, the Demons will have to step up and find ways to cover his absence. The Demons have been able to put together defensive minded games on occasion though need to find ways to continue attacking at the same time.

Perth hasn’t won a game since beating the Lions in Round 6, a victory due largely to the workrate of Ross Young, Sam Butler and Nick Lower. Blake Broadhurst and Brant Chambers should once again be the focus for Subiaco, though the Lions have shown the ability to create opportunities when the duo faces stifling defences.

Subiaco will look to their midfield to drive their attack, while Perth will need to take advantage of their strength in the ruck and on the wing, and avoid the all too familiar fourth quarter fade out.

Overall record: Subiaco won 157, Perth won 165

EAST FREMV PEEL THUNDEREast Fremantle OvalPeel is once again looking to become a late season giant killer though East Fremantle will want to avoid letting the Thunder come within striking range.

The Thunder showed their ability to challenge anyone regardless of positioning, pulling off the upset of the season with its win over Claremont thanks largely to a seven-goal final term, their largest fourth quarter haul this year.

A large part of the win was due to the Thunder’s focus on restricting Claremont’s key scorers, a mindset that will need to be carried over to this week to combat the Sharks’ increasing midfield-led confidence.

The Sharks were challenged in their last matchup with the Thunder, inaccuracy almost costing them late in the game along with an inability to reign in Pat Travers and Matt Battye. The Thunder are becoming more defensively aware of their opponents’ weaknesses and have become more confident with their scoring. They’ll need to force the Sharks to look beyond Rory O’Brien, Mark McGough and Koby Stevens in the midfield which should apply more pressure on East’s forwards to play up the ground and create their own opportunities.

The Sharks will need to sure up their presence in the middle while targeting Travers, Battye and Brad Holmes to force the Thunder into relying on less confident scoring options.

Overall record: East Fremantle won 28, Peel won 9

SWAN DIST V SOUTH FREMSteel Blue OvalSouth Fremantle is running short of chances to improve its finals hopes and will hope to regain some momentum against the rolling Swan Districts, who could find itself sitting in outright first with a win this week.

The Bulldogs fell just eight points short of a derby comeback led by an impressive effort from Andrew McCarrey with seven goals. While they overcame deficits at all the breaks the Bulldogs were unable to maintain their fight in the final term. Against Swan Districts, who stepped up physically in their win over Perth, the Bulldogs will need to assert themselves and not let the Swans dictate the flow of the game.

Last time the two sides met the Bulldogs allowed Swans to run rampant though the midfield and dominate the ruck, leading to six multiple goal scorers and a 23-point loss.

The Bulldogs will have to be careful not to let the Swans forwards stamp their mark on the game. Against Perth the Ash Hansen-Murray Newman tandem combined for 12 goals with Newman also gathering 29 disposals. Kris Miller, Toby Bairstow and Ryan Cook will once again be key in stemming the flow of the Swans’ attack through the centre, though will need to be able to focus on impacting the game offensively themselves.

Overall record: Swan Districts won 99, South Fremantle won 132

UMPIRES22

Top whistle-blowers to be honoured

By Craig O’Donoghue

The best 11 umpires from the past 10 years will be announced by the WANFLUA at a major function at the Novotel on June 16.

The WANFLUA is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year and, just as it did in 2002, will announce the team of the decade.

Five teams of the decade were announced at the 50-year celebrations followed by a team of the half century. That team comprised field umpires Ross Capes, Ray Montgomery, Len Gardner and emergency Grant Vernon, boundary umpires John Devine, Ron Hall and Dan Gooch along with goal umpires Bill Carter, Merv Rose and third scorer Paul Smith.

The WANFLUA announced the nominations for the team of the decade from 2002-2011 earlier this year. The 10 best field, boundary and goal umpires were chosen and handed to a selection committee to pick the best of the best.

The top 10 field umpires are Dean Margetts, Jeff Dalgleish, Stuart Parry, Greg Bandy, Todd Keating, Brett Rosebury, Gavin Statham, Craig Hendrie, Mark Fussell and Luke Farmer.

The boundary nominations are Haden Martin, Richard Heptinstall, Greg Smith, Jamie Giles, Nathan Doig, Ben Brown, George Pampacos, Alan Zanich, Jace Collingridge and Brett Dalgleish.

The goal umpire nominations

are Cos Martino, Wayne Hendrie, David Shawcross, Brett Rogers, Dale Edwick, Andrew Curtis, Mike Spear, John Marrapodi, Matt Laycock and Adam Peacock.

The WANFLUA will name three field umpires and one emergency, four boundary umpires, two goal umpires and a third scorer.

The selection committee comprised some of umpiring’s biggest names. Former AFL field

to address the needs of

children born with childhood

heart disease.

Incidence of Childhood Heart Disease is far

greater than most people expect. Although it

comes as quite a shock to family and family

alike, an astounding 6 babies each day in

Australia are diagnosed with heart disease.

Cures remain predominantly unknown and little

in general is known about the disease and its

cause. Therefore we need your help to assist in

addressing this situation.

Heart defects are present in 1 in 100 babies

and are the most common birth abnormality.

Childhood Heart Disease takes more lives

than all other childhood diseases combined.

Heart disease in children is the leading

cause of young children death in Australia,

accounting for more than 30% of all

childhood deaths.

Cures of these heart conditions remain

unidentified, therefore there is an

immense need to develop early intervention

strategies to identify and prevent heart

disease in children.

umpires Greg Scroop, Grant Vernon and Trevor Garrett, former AFL boundary umpires Peter Frusher and Stewart Tempest along with former AFL boundary umpiring coach Sean Fairfoul. Goal umpiring judges were WAFL goal umpires’ coach Colin Shawcross, former AFL goal umpire Ron Poole and former WAFL umpire and AFL interchange steward Gil Bishop.

The WANFLUA is encouraging all former members to attend the 60-year function to celebrate the association’s rich history.

AFL Umpiring Director Jeff Gieschen will be a special guest.

Narrogin Hawks recorded its third win of the season, with an upset 18-point win over Kukerin-Dumbleyung.

COMMUNITY FOOTBALL

A Grade competition wide open

THE 2012 WA Amateur Football League A Grade season returns after a general bye and competition for a fi nals spot is wide open, with only two games separating fi rst from sixth.

After winning only seven games for the year and finishing in seventh place last season, Trinity Aquinas have been the surprise packets of 2012 and currently sit top of the ladder having lost only one match for the year.

Their reserves side is in a similar position, sitting second with only one loss, keeping selection pressure on the A Grade players spots and ensuring they have to maintain good form with many reserves players capable of stepping up to fill a void.

In similarly surprising circumstances, last years’ minor premiers Mt Lawley currently sit in eighth place with only two wins for the year, which have come against the 10th and seventh placed Hamersley Carine and Maddington.

After losing a number of players at the end of 2011 – including 2011 A Grade fairest and best Clinton Gribble – Mt Lawley have struggled to recapture the form which earned them a grand final spot against University.

Despite the poor form, Mt Lawley sit only two games outside of finals contention, proving they are more than capable of matching it with the top A Grade clubs.

They will need to be at their best this weekend as they host third-placed Whitford, who haven’t lost a match since April.

Another club only two games outside the top five is Maddington, but the prospect of facing the Bulls would frighten some of the top clubs.

After a slow start to the year the Bulls have been getting progressively better and proven to be a headache for many of the top sides, handing Trinity their only loss for the year and pushing Collegians to the dying seconds in their round five match.

Their hard in-and-under style has been complimented by the outside skill of new recruit and former Gold Coast Sun Nathan Krakouer, who joined the club to play alongside his cousin.

The Bulls face Hamersley Carine this weekend and would be confident of getting their third win of the season against the bottom-placed side.

After winning the 2011 B Grade premiership, Hamersley Carine have found it tough to adjust to A Grade competition and have only managed one win for the year.

That win came against a side only 3 percent ahead of them at the bottom of the ladder in North Fremantle, who have the tough ask against Trinity Aquinas this weekend.

Long-time A Grade stalwart North Fremantle will be desperate to avoid

relegation to B Grade, and wins against top sides will prove vital in trying to finish outside the bottom two.

Last years’ premiers University have struggled to hit top form so far this year, sitting sixth on four wins with only one win against a team above them on the ladder, Swan Athletic, who have also won four games after being promoted from B Grade last season.

University face the ever-dangerous North Beach at Charles Riley Reserve, while Swan Athletic tackle second placed Collegians who were riding a six-game win streak before being handed their first loss by Trinity in Round 7.

Bouncedown for all A Grade matches is 2.30pm, following the colts at 10.15am and reserves at 12.05pm.
