QuickStart Guide for Emona TutorTIMS-Student Version © 2005 Emona Instruments Pty Ltd Printed in Australia TT-ST-QSG-1.0 START HERE It is strongly recommended that you follow these step-by-step numbered instructions to set up and quickly begin using TutorTIMS-Student 2 INSTALL JAVA ON YOUR COMPUTER Install JAVA from the www.java.com web site. Look for “Java Software Download” and download the latest Java Runtime Environment (approx. 15MB) automatically to your computer. Ensure that file association for “*.jar” files is set to JAVAW.EXE on your computer. 4 GETTING ON-SCREEN HELP Click the HELP toggle switch: the help menu (left column) and details are displayed in the scope window. Click on any menu item in the left column: details will be displayed on the right. 3 INSTALL THE TutorTIMS PROGRAM AND DOCUMENTATION FILES • Open the TutorTIMS “*.ZIP” file • Extract the TutorTIMS files • TutorTIMS on your computer Double click the “*.ZIP” file you have received from your professor. Click EXTRACT to copy TutorTIMS to your destination folder. TutorTIMS program (*.jar), other files and manuals folder will be extracted and copied on your hard drive. 1 CHECK THAT JAVA IS INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER If you are not sure that JAVA is already installed, perform a search for the “javaw.exe” program file on your computer hard disk. Click START > SEARCH and enter “javaw.exe” as the file to search for. Proceed to STEP 3 if JAVA Runtime Environment is installed. (Version 1.4 or later). Otherwise go to STEP 2 to install JAVA from the web.

  • RIGHT CLICK your mouse button and select Open in New Window to open the manualsPDF file.

    5LOADING A TutorTIMS EXPERIMENT FILEClick the LOAD toggle switch and locate the *.tut file to load.

    TutorTIMS-Student Version includes a smallnumber of pre-wired, ready-to-load, experimentfiles. Click the LOAD toggle switch and locate the*.tut files in the directory you installed to.
