START HEREIt is strongly recommended that youfollow these step-by-step numberedinstructions to set up and quicklybegin using TutorTIMS-Professor

1CHECK THAT JAVA IS INSTALLED ON YOUR PC

If you are not sure that JAVA is already installed, perform asearch for the javaw.exe program file on your PCs HDD.

Click START > SEARCH and enter javaw.exe to search.

Proceed to STEP 3 if JAVA Runtime Environment is installed.(Version 1.4 orlater).

Otherwise go toSTEP 2 to installJAVA from theTutorTIMS-Professor

CD-ROM.

2INSTALL JAVA ON YOUR COMPUTERInstall JAVA from the TutorTIMS-Professor CD-ROM

Take the TutorTIMS-Professor CD-ROM and insert inyour computers CD drive.

Open the TutorTIMS-Professor CD directory. Double clickthe JAVA folder and run the jre-... exe application.

3VIEW THE TutorTIMS GUIDE - it only takes 4 minutes !The GUIDE quickly shows how to make experiments, select and adjust modules, patch inputs andoutputs, load and save experiments, and GRAB screen captures of experiments.

Sit back and view the self-runningGuide. PressALT F4 to quit.

Open the TutorTIMS-Professor CD directory.Double click Guide_to_using_TutorTIMS.ZIP

Double click ttintro....exe file.

4YOU ARE NOW READY TO INSTALL TutorTIMS-Professor Version

Open the TutorTIMS-Professor CD directory.

Double click TT-...setup.exe file.Read and follow each step of the INSTALL procedure.

7GETTING ON-SCREEN HELP

Click the HELP toggle switch: the help menu (left column) and details are displayed in the scope window.

Click on any menu item in the left column:details will be displayed on the right.

Click on any terminal.Note that the terminalchanges colour.

Click on anotherterminal to make theconnection.

6RUNNING TutorTIMSGo to START > PROGRAMS > . . . . . . .

Click on thewelcome screento start TutorTIMS.

Selecting and inserting modules Making connectionsRIGHT CLICK on any empty slot. Then click on the module of your choice.

5INSERT THE USB LICENSING KEYTo run TutorTIMS-Professor Versionyou must have the LICENSING KEY pluggedinto one of your PCs USB ports.

4 USB licensing keys are provided withTutorTIMS-Professor version, so 4 copies ofTutorTIMS-Professor Version can be run

simultaneously, or at 4 locations.

RIGHT CLICK your mouse button and selectOpen in New Window to open the manuals PDF file.

9LOADING A TutorTIMS EXPERIMENT FILEClick the LOAD toggle switch and locate the *.tut file to load.

Click the LOAD toggleswitch and locate theexperiment_files folder

in the directory youinstalled to.

TutorTIMS-Professor Version includes alarge number of pre-wired, ready-to-load,

experiment files.

10USER and EXPERIMENT MANUALSClick the MANUALS toggle switch to launch the documentation INDEX in a web browser window.

The documentation INDEXprovides access to: USER Manual PDF files. LabSheet Experiment PDF

files. Names of TutorTIMS

Experiment files *.tut foreach LabSheet.

Screen images of completeexperiments.
