There are two kinds of freedom On the 27th of April every year you see really very many buses transporting the people to full the stadiums. Some they One kind of freedom is the freedom that every person in the sleep under the bridges, some they are begging in the city world has inside of themselves. This is the freedom to decide streets, and some they stay in the shacks. If you go to the how to respond to the circumstance in which they find stadiums to watch you see those in government dancing in themselves. Even under apartheid we all had this freedom. front of the poor people. Some of those poor people arrive at Freedom Day is about the kind of freedom that comes from the stadium hungry. There is nothing to eat at the stadium if society. One part of that freedom is the freedom that comes you have no money. When they go to bed that night there will from real democracy, the freedom of all people to discuss still be nothing to eat. If you can ask how the government can matters and to make decisions for themselves. In South Africa get these buses you will be very surprised. If you can also ask this freedom has been taken from the poor. It has mostly been who is going to pay, and how much, you will find that the taken by the councillors and their committees. But they are money for those buses could pay for at least ten houses for supported up to a very high level.people who are houseless. We have to ask ourselves why the

Another part of the freedom that comes from society is about politicians would rather pay for buses to transport houseless having what you need to be safe in the world and to be able to people to the stadiums than to pay for houses to house those move through the world doing what you need to do. To enjoy people.this kind of freedom you must be free from all kinds of

When you are watching these leaders dancing in front of the discrimination. But this kind of freedom is also dependent on poor people you will see the watches on their arms – watches having money or it is dependent on a state or community that that can house two people who are houseless. And I'm not can provide the things that people need – things like safe even talking about their fancy suits, shoes, ties or their also houses, transport, electricity, health care, education, lights on fancy cars. It is incredible how they can waste money on all the streets and so on. But when it comes to this kind of these pretty things for themselves when the people don't even freedom the reality is that only the rich, including those in have what is basic to life. government, are free. So the minority is really free in this way

whereas the majority is still under the dark clouds. We are not poor because we are dirty and stupid and lazy. We are poor because our ancestors were defeated. We do not need

Mostly South Africans celebrate freedom day. Some they feel free but some do not feel free. Some are told that they are free and get excited because they trust those who tell them that they are free. They still have hope that one day the politicians will recognize them. As hard as it is we all have to face up to the reality that this is a false hope. We have to face up to the need for a second struggle.

We do not need savings groups or training on how wait for us to get paid at the end of the month and then rob to wash our hands. What we need is justice. It is not for us. I also mean those who are committing huge corruption. nothing that our shirts are red. We should remember that there are degrees in criminology.

Some of those who are left behind go to the stadiums and I wonder if God can say that all those who died for our sing freedom songs with the hope that one day they will be freedom can rise again. If they could rise again would they go free. The pain and fear that they are feeling is making them to to the stadiums to watch the politicians dancing in front of run like headless chickens. This is a very sad situation. You can the poor? Or would they hide their eyes in disappointment run to the stadium in hope that the politicians will recognize and shame? All I can say is that the people of this country your suffering but when they drive off you take the bus back must force the politicians to stop fighting about tenders. We to life in the shade – sleeping under bridges, burning in the need what is ours. The land and the wealth of this country shack fires, harassed by the land invasions unit and the must be shared. The politicians must be forced to become police, cleaning and securing the homes of the rich, toiling on the servants of the people. the farms for peanuts. I wonder why they decided to nominate April of all months as When those who are left behind ask “Where is this freedom Freedom Day. The only thing I know about this month is the that we have been jointly fighting for?” the answer is always: first day of it and when the people fill the stadiums I feel like “Be patient comrades. You all know how the white minority the politicians are fooling the people. There is no reason to government damaged this country. We are trying to solve say that you are free when you know that you are not. We as these problems now but it will take time. We need you to be the poor, whether we are in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Brazil or patient and to be loyal, to root out the trouble makers so that Italy, we have to support each other and give courage to each we can continue with development.” But really, if you can other so that we can strengthen the freedom that is in us all. count how much money has been wasted on the arms deal, We need to strengthen this freedom so that we can use it to travelgate and the World Cup it will soon become clear to you struggle for a free society. To those who feel bad about how that this government is not interested in what the people on we criticise the politicians I can say that if they do good then I the ground need. The lives of the poor people are still the will praise that.same if not becoming worse. Yet we are told that we are free.

What I can say is that what is being called freedom in South By Lindela 'Mashumi' Figlan.Africa is a big corruption. I don't only mean that there is corruption everywhere. I also mean that the idea of what freedom really is has been corrupted. Just look at the fact that there is never any money to develop poor communities but there is all this money for the 2010 World Cup. The government says that we must “feel it, it is here”. All that the poor can feel is what we feel in our real lives - leaking shacks, shack fires, long queues for water, the dangers of life without toilets, evictions, disconnections, bosses that do not respect our humanity, unemployment, lying and corrupt councillors, a lack of safety for women and crime.

How different our country would have been if the government took all the money that it spent on the World Cup and spent it on the poor. How different our country would have been if the government decided to seriously emancipate the people from poverty and from criminals. By criminals I don't only mean those men that attack women in the bushes where they are forced to seek privacy in the night

From a safety point of view, one of the most important jobs in aviation today. ATC's, as they are known for short, give aircraft permission to approach, land, take-off or route through the applicable airspace. In addition to this, they also provide search and rescue services in an emergency situation, as well as aeronautical information management (flight planning).

An Air Traffic Controller does exactly what the name suggests, controlling air traffic. It is a highly stressful job and they work at the major airports across the world. An average salary for a qualified ATC would be around R15000 per month (depending on seniority, level of qualification and allowances at different airports due traffic density).

To become a civilian ATC in South Africa, training is provided by Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) through the Aviation Training Academy. You will be taught everything about being an ATC as well as learn about the complexities of "moving traffic." It takes 4-6 years to become fully qualified. You can expect a number of theoretical and practical courses and exposure to real situations in the field. You will start off as an ATC Assistant, progress to Aerodrome Control, and finally to Procedural and/or Radar Control.

A bookkeeper is a person who keeps a record of all the organisation's financial transactions. They maintain accounting records by tabulating expenditures, posting debits and credits, producing financial statements, and preparing reports and summaries for supervisors and managers. They keep records of profits and loss, and prepare bank deposits. They may also handle payrolls, make purchases, prepare invoices and keep track of overdue accounts. Bookkeepers need to be computer literate to calculate and record all the data. They must be thorough, orderly and detail-oriented in order to avoid making errors and to recognise errors made by others. It is also of paramount importance that a bookkeeper be discreet and trustworthy, as they frequently come into contact with confidential company documents.

Although not all of us have a natural ability to work with figures, we will all agree that the accounts department is the heart of any company and one which it cannot function without. A background of accounting & maths

is essential from high school to college.

A bookkeeper is an integral part of any company and processes the transactions and bank statements of an organisation, while ensuring that accounts and payments are continually reconciled. A bookkeeper can earn anything between R5 000 and R20 000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Architectural Model Builders transfer the architect's vision to reality, either by a 3d computer-generated version of the design, or by a physical design on a table- top that illustrates what the design will look like when completed. This is painstaking work which requires patience and dedication, as well as specific attention to detail. The skills of drawing are required, as they can be learned via fine art or technical drawing.

An Architectural Model Builder is someone who

physically compiles the models used for new

building developments and while others don't get

salaries from company, as they run their own

private businesses, private work is charged at

around R100 an hour, which usually nets around

R10 000 a month, although overtime can push that

up.

I think Hubbly is cool and it's not a drug as people

say. So I condone it!

Lerato Moeng (25) Soshanguve

Hubbly Bubbly is nice when you want to have fun

and also want to entertain yourself and friends.

However, people misuse it by adding drugs into it,

which is not a right way. And it should only be used

by adults to avoid that tobacco flavours, not kids.

Guluva Letsoalo - Soshanguve

About hubbly, I just think its wrong as it leads to

smoking even more big things, when you start, it

seems good and obviously you will see no problem

with it. But as time goes on, the effects of it

without mixing it with substance will mean nothing.

Than that's where you start mixing it with weed,

alcohol and all those other things just to get high.

Keabetswe Nthate (22) - Ga-Rankuwa

Akse guys! I dont think hubbly bubbly is a drug. Is something that people use to clear their minds and it helps many youth from taking drugs and other staff. How can a drug have flavours? lol

Maxwell Tladi - Hammanskraal

Smoking hubbly bubbly is nice, especially in public for attention. People normally mix it with other things but what is popular in the township is dagga, because you know that you will get high better than a dry hubbly. And the flavour just helps to remove the dagga smell.

George Molefe (27) - PTA

Like it or not! Where the is smoke, the is fire. Praise it as much as you want it will catch up with you soon if not later. Like for real guys, it takes scientific research to tell us that there are dangers in smoking hubbly which will lead to coursing other disease, but yet we still refuse to admit that it's bad for our health or maybe you don't like the word drug. Fine, but whatever you call it, it is still not good for our bodies. I will be there counting the death stats by hubbly pipe in years to come!

Hi! My name is Leslie Tshepiso Mohale from Rustenburg in Moruleng. I was born and

raised there for the past 24 years. At the age of 20 I moved to Greece in a big

city called Athens after I applied for a scholarship in Environmental

Research Specialist. I knew about the scholarship after one of my

friends applied for it online. One of their agent contacted an

interview with the selected candidates at Dept of Labour, where 20

were selected for the scholarship from 120 hopefuls. My first

impression when I got here was seeing the beautiful side of the

country and the land marks. The country has versatile cultures just

like in South Africa. The food and the taste is totally different to what

I was used too, as people here enjoy sea food and spaghetti most.

That's their favourite dish. Now I'm still on the programme, I have not

yet started to work, but we do receive wages. And what I usually do

during my spare time from training/school. I go to movies, play games and

go on a night out with friends. And during long school/training holidays, I

sell vetkoeks (fat-cakes) which aren't popular this side. But people support

me as they enjoy my SA recipe style. I make a profit of R5000.00 within 30

days of selling the vetkoeks during holidays with my other 3 foreign friends.

So I send my profit back home because I don't need it much. And they bank

it for me. I can recommend anyone to visit or start life this side as they are

lot of opportunities and support from Independent Institutes. The youth

here group itself as a norm of sharing ideas, advices, information etc. The

group that you stick with goes with you to church, clubs, athletic sports

events etc.

Page 25: Tshwane Youth Magazine

The norm would be your Attitude determines your Altitude, I agree though I have come to realise that your attitude is actually

driven by your thoughts. What you think is exactly what you do. So your thoughts make or destroy you because there are

different kinds of thoughts good and bad. What you think is what you attract. What you secretly harbour in your heart, you

attract. It is important to watch what you thinking.

Your thoughts measures where you heading in life, for example people who are milliners today they did not

awake as millionaires but first thought of it then visualised it and actualised it. It all started as a thought.

Have a vision, think big, dream, personal success is created twice. First in your mind and then in the external

world. Thought is a source of motivation, passion and success. If you strive for impossible you will achieve the

best possible. Take the risk, be courageous, and become extraordinary. You are on you are on this p l a n e t t o

accomplish a unique mission. Believe in the beauty of your dreams. Do not stop dreaming.

You have control over your thoughts not the other way around. If you think frustr

ations, depression that is exactly what comes your way and if you think peace, joy, love a n d

success they have no option but to come your direction because your thoughts magnet attr

acts them with a massive force that is non-resistible.

Allow God to be the mediator of you and your thoughts you will never go wrong. With

my personal experience it worked, still working because I understand when God said

in his WORD “So a man thinketh so is he” (Proverbs 23:7 KJV)

Thoughts that make you:

1. I can do it!

2. I want to do it!

3. It's achievable!

4. Nothing can stop me!

5. Visualising the final result

6. Not fearing the unknown

Thoughts that destroy you:

1. I can not do it

2. I wont succeed

3. Its not achievable

4. Something can hinder me

5. Not visualising the final result but the current situation

6. Fearing the unknown

So what you think brings the good or bad out of you. I believe we all want to

succeed the secret is based on our thoughts. What you think is what you get! It

all relies on our thoughts. As far as you think is as far as you will go. Start

thinking strictly thoughts that make you not the ones that destroys you.

Choose to be a positive thinker!!!!!!!!

The legend DJ Fresh teams up with the other new legend in the making Euphonik. Both bring us their debut album as a due, known to be F.eU. The two joined forces last year to revolve the house music scene. Their first much-anticipated offering which turned to be a double disc did not leave up to most people expectations who have been their fans since the birth of the two dj's careers. Yes! DJ Fresh & Euphonik are targeting a different market now since they've been part of 5FM family, the sound is on an electro tip which shadows the potential to reach the township people, even though disc one is more on 123bpm with remix of 'Vuma' by Nick Holder. The tracks that most can relate to are 'Hey Hey' by Dennis Ferrer, 'Show Dem' – remix which originally was done by JR and HHP, 'Mshini Wami' house version just to name a few. Other tracks on the compilation are more than 130 bpm, which won't wait for you on the dance floor. I guess house music is moving fast towards electro sound these days, not sure if will follow as deep house and commercial music lovers. 5/10

South African pop sensation, Jamali has released a new album titled Toxic Candy, which features two of South Africa's top rappers - JR and Pro (ProKid) on Jati. The album is a combination of seductively sweet love ballads and a darker side with edgy dance and electronic anthems. They also went further to changing their looks to more seductive. Toxic Candy' serves up a very eclectic mix of sounds that are amplified by an impressive list of collaborations. The song Heaven features the astounding Soweto Gospel choir who add warmth and richness to the music and Joseph Clarke also features on 'A Child's Prayer'. The 14 track album will be on the test, it's just a matter of time to see if it will also make its mark like the previous once. 6/10

Rolling Papers is the third album released by Wiz Khalifa, the new kid on the blog for those who just knew him now. The most popular track that you might know him by is the overplayed “Black and Yellow,” the unofficial anthem for Kaizer Chiefs FC. He even went further to do the remix for it with Snoop Dogg, T-pain & Juicy J. This got him more fans. Many of the tracks on this album fall under the category of pop rap with subject matter consisting of partying: drinking, smoking, having your way with loose women, etc. The act of smoking is a very consistent theme throughout the album, hence the title, Rolling Papers. His second single titled “Roll Up” it's also gaining its momentum amongst various music video shows and radios. It's a cheesy love ballad that describes how the rapper has no problem being there for his woman and is backed by this awesomely smooth synth-laden piece. Will he maintain his current standard on the forth one? 7/10

Winter season has already knocked on our door step with its so ungentle breeze against our body temperature. We search for top twelve things you need to take to consideration as you endure the cold atmosphere within the earth space for the next coming two months or so. The following tips will guide you to a healthy lifestyle, keep you entertained during cold season, recommendation for indoor activities and more…

No.12 (Exercising ) Going to a gym or exercising on your own can come handy at this time of the season as research shows that most people gain lot of weight as they become couch potatoes by being glued to television and eating much. Now that you're prepared to exercise, set a schedule for your workout and stick with it. Early mornings and late afternoons are the most popular times to work out. Physicians say vigorous exercise should be avoided in the evenings to prevent possible interference with sleeping.

No.11 (Clothes) Your body needs protection from the cold weather by wearing warm clothes in order for you not to attract infections such as flu etc. Jeans, Warm Jackets, Sneakers are some of the clothing items to keep you warm at work, school or even at an outdoor event. Winter fashion can be simplified compare to summer as it does not have a much variety of colors & items.

No.10 (Drinks) Coffee is the most consumed drink during winter season as a replacement to cold soft-drinks. But then, too much coffee in our bodies is not healthy as it contains more caffeine. Coffee addiction can lead to many dangers and medical problems, including high blood sugar and insomnia. If you suffer from coffee addiction you may experience withdrawals for a few weeks after you stop drinking coffee. Coffee addiction can lead to depression and anxiety.

No.9 (Tea Party) Hosting couple of friends and family friends for a small gathering during winter is the best timing as summer & spring are occupied by many occasions. Tea Parties are not restricting people from adding alcohol nor sound to the occasion. During cold season, most people enjoy indoor events. So your home is the best as most of things can be organized like fire place, heater, coffee etc unlike in clubs.
