PipeDesigner 3D® Manufacturer DatabasesTrimble has agreements with several manufacturers to provide you with data specific totheir fittings. These databases are available on the Trimble MEP website.
You can easily add this data to your master PipeDesigner 3D database using the QuickMerge Utility .
The manufacturers databases are available in the SQL Server backup format, making itsimple to add more pipe/fittings to your database.
The database file names describe each database accurately, making it simple todetermine which one you want to merge.

Information
Before you begin the merge process, review the general information below.
The data available for merge is based on the information included in the sourcedatabase.
The QuickMerge procedure allows you to "pick and choose" the data you wantmerged from the source into the target database.
If you did not merge all data in the initial procedure, you can merge additional datafrom the source into the target immediately after the initial merge is complete.
You can merge additional data into your target database or overwrite existing data.
Caution - Use caution when using the overwrite option. This procedure actually deletesmatching items that are in both the source and target database. Those items are thenrecreated in the target database from the source. It is possible to lose data from yourtarget when using this option.
QuickMerge will add new items and folders; however, new item detail will not bemerged into and existing item unless you use the overwrite option.

Manufacturer Database Guidance
This topic provides helpful information to assist you in merging in data from the TrimbleManufacturer databases available on our website.
Source Database
The Source Database is the Manufacturers Database that you want to merge into thePipeDesigner 3D software. These databases are provided in an SQLite format so they canbe merged easily simply by selecting the DB file in the Database Type field. A password isnot required.
The graphic below illustrates how your screen might display. Note: The Database fileinformation is dependant on the location and file you are merging.
Target Database
The Target Database is where you want to add the Manufacturer data. Typically, thiswill be your master PipeDesigner 3D database, but you may have setup other databases.Make sure you know where you want this data stored prior to selecting a target database.
The graphic below illustrates how your screen might display. Note: The WindowsAuthentication and Database information is dependant on your system and where youwant to add the data.

Exports/New Database
The QuickMerge utility allows you the flexibility to create a new source database withspecific information you can then provide to another individual. This procedure also workswell if you have created data in a stand-alone of the PipeDesigner 3D software (or offsite)and want to add it to your master database.
The procedures are similar to merging data into a target database; however, to properly create the new source, this topic contains instructions specifically related to creating anew database.
Create New Source Database
Tip - If you are merging in the Trimble Manufacturer Databases, see the ManufacturerDatabases Guidance topic for some helpful hints.
1. In the QuickMerge To Database information screen, complete the following fields:
