Background to projectPlot What I’ve Done thus far

BACKGROUND TO PROJECT

• For the Final Media Project we had to decide on what we where going to linked to a certain theme which is the time in now which can be related to anything that is now and current or the theme of time.

WHY I CHOSE TO DO TRENDSETTER • The reason why I chose to do trendsetter is to show how keeping up with trends is an

exercise in futility in that once you’ve caught up with a trend a newer more popular trend comes up to replace it.

• As well as the subtext of how people can exploit friendships for personal gain and how although people can be older does not always the wiser as well as a reflection on the rise of amorality in public life and the easy corruptibility of politicians

PLOT OF TRENDSETTERTwo friends Dave McGill, & Tim Westbury, decide to join forces to gain a £20-25000 research grant by the Dept: of Scientific Advancement with a discovery that could improve the sociology of the British people.

The experiment or project is question is the viability and the importance of trends by putting on the most clothes and items of popular culture

PLOTLINE 2 • Then McGill is placed into prison on the charge of manslaughter because of the untimely

death of Tim Westbury but his custodial sentence is revoked after the Minister of Science Peter Lynton who judged the contest is placed in jail due to criminal negligence.

• Then starts his new life off as Mr. Ellis and all government papers retaining to the incident is closed

FORMS • I created a series of permission forms to secure the premises of the buildings as locations

LOCATIONS I have procured the premises of Cheshire Country Council Building, as the main setting for the Ministry of Scientific Advancement as well as the Lord Binning my local pub in Kelsall as the venue for the unnamed pub where the two characters first meet up.

OTHER LOCATIONS • For the scenes in the government departmental conference room I will be using the

college’s conference room as it has that fresh sterile clinical environmental needed for an intense scene such as this where the government minister meets with his superior.

• I have used Lindsay Shannon to procure the usage of this particular room within the confines of the college

OTHER LOCATIONS CONT:• I will also be using the college cafeteria which also has a sinister postmodern feel to the

surroundings to give a raw emotive edge to the final scene where the falsely accused teen is meet with the incompetent minister.

SCRIPT AND CHARACTER PROFILES

I have completed my script outlining my characters speech and actions as well as creating a character profile detailing their individual appearances
