About TES

Recognizing the need for mobility, GlobalMed developed the Transportable Exam Station (TES) to take healthcare beyond the static installation. With a laptop computer designed to accomodate a variety of connected medical devices housed, in an impact-, dust- and weather-resistant rolling case, TES is an interactive and fully-mobile examination station.

TES was designed and manufactured in the USA by GlobalMed.

TES is housed in a rugged, aluminum carry-on sized, wheeled case which will accommodate USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices. These devices may include:

• TES must be plugged into a wall outlet overnight before first use.

• Always open the TES fully on a steady tabletop and deploy kickstand prior to use.

• Only use manufacturer-recommended or approved accessories to ensure compatibility.

• Unplug power supply from any component before cleaning.

• Never spray or use liquid directly on components or connectors (Reference: Cleaning Procedures).

• If any liquid penetrates into any component or connector, switch off and unplug the power cord. Contact your service provider (Reference: Contact Information on Page 1). Continuous use may lead to further damage and/or result in electrical shock or may create a fire hazard.

• If any abnormalities occur, such as smoke, odor or other, turn off TES, unplug main power supply, and contact your service provider immediately.

• Unplug main power supply during lightning storm to prevent possible damage from power surge.

• Contact your service provider prior to repairing or performing maintenance on any components or devices, as this may void existing warranties.

• Do not pull any power supply by the cord; only pull power plug. Failure to comply may result in damage to the power supply, electrical shock or may create a fire hazard.

• Never operate or touch any electrical component with wet hands.

• Inspect all components, cords, cables, and other pertinent equipment before each use. To address any concerns, power down all related components and unplug. Contact your service provider immediately.

• Please retain the original packaging material.

• TES contains two, rechargeable, Li-ion batteries. TES may be transported with the 70Wh battery connected.

• This system should be stored in a controlled environment (see specifications for acceptable conditions). Disconnecting both batteries is recommended for long-term storage. (see section 8, Replacement Components, for instructions)

Note : This device is only intended for use by licensed medical professionals.

Note: Refer to all component manuals for any additional precautions before using this unit.

Cleaning Procedures

The purpose of these procedures is to provide clear direction and instruction with regard to the cleaning requirements for the complete TES device and each medical device accessory based on the situational use of the products in a clinical setting.

These procedures reference the classification scheme found in the Center for Disease Control, “Guideline for Disinfection and Sterilization in Healthcare Facilities”, 2008. These procedures categorize the requirements for disinfection and sterilization into three levels according to the degree of risk for infection involved in the use of the item. The categories and their basic definitions are the following:

The tables associated with this document detail the examination type, the CDC disinfection and sterilization classification, and provide the cleaning instructions based on the product’s use.

• ALWAYS use approved disinfecting wipes and/or a soft cloth, lightly moistened with the approved cleaning solutions per CDC guidelines.

• ALWAYS check with CDC guidelines and product manuals, if in doubt.

• NEVER spray any liquids directly on the Transportable Exam Station or any of the components.

• NEVER use any abrasive cleaners or volatile solvents.

• NEVER use any alcohol, ammonia, or abrasive products on screens or monitors. They can etch the screen surface and cause the plastic to appear cloudy.

Critical

Semi-Critical

Non-Critical

- Items confer a high risk for infection if they are contaminated with any microorganism.

- Items that contact mucous membranes or non-intact skin.

- Items that contact intact skin but not mucous membranes.
