‘N Focus: A Prayer Update of CEF of Nebraska
Training for Life and Eternity
T wo Christian Youth in Action® (CYIATM) trainings were held in Nebraska this year, CYIA Central and CYIA East! CYIA North was not held due to the Covid-19 restrictions. Over 100 young people were
trained and prepared as summer missionaries! We are thankful for the trust of parents, for the protection from the Lord, and for His strength for CYIA!. The eight (8) days

Significant Opportunity
W e are thankful for the extra financial
provisions the Lord provided through the
CARES Act that CEF of Nebraska applied for and
received this year. With 100—150 5-Day Clubs
during this summer, extra time and resources are
needed. Summer is always a challenge financially
for any ministry, and CEF is no exception. We are
so thankful for God’s people who continue to
“invest in eternity”
The CARES Act funds will soon be gone, and
the time for the Lord to use His people’s generosity
grows greater. Would you pray and give a $10,
$50, $100, even $1,000 gift so that we can surge
forward reaching children with the Gospel? We
could use an immediate $10,000 for current
of CYIA consisted of around 110 hours of ministry. Activities each day began at 7:00 AM and were supposed to end at 10:30-11:00 PM. CYIA would not happen without the great returning CYIA staff, full-time CEF staff missionaries, and especially the cooks!
CYIA Central was able to be held at our regular location of Whispering Cedars Baptist Camp. CYIA East was not able to be held at its normal location of

Camp Moses Merrill, but was held at a local church in Omaha. Navigating the directed health measures for the trainings was a challenge, but we did our best to follow them, and everyone went home from the trainings safe and healthy.
The summer missionaries are already underway teaching 5-Day Clubs throughout Nebraska. We are thankful for the families and churches who are willing to still host these clubs for the children. We are prayerful that over 100 5-Day Clubs will be held in Nebraska. We are also prayerful that more children will attend the clubs this year than in previous years. There is still time to schedule a 5-Day Club for your neighborhood, but act TODAY.
Please pray for safety and energy for the teachers and pray the Lord would bring multitudes of children into a dynamic and transformational relationship with Himself.

or estate planning.
These include gifts of

real estate, personal
property, or cash.
Include CEF of

CYIA Staff—East
A nother summer is here! It definitely has been a unique year. Home school didn’t
change all that much for us, since we were already home schooling. It did however, require the Classical Conversations community we are a part of to need to meet via video conference. Consequently, I think we all have become more familiar, and dare I say, comfortable, with video conferencing.
Ariana was looking forward to participating in a
mock trial this year. Due to the directed health
measures, her class could not attend the mock trial in
person, so their instructors improvised, and held not
just one, but two different mock trials via video
conference. It was an interesting experience to say
the least. Ariana turns 14 August 25th and will begin
high school this fall! Our sweet little girl is turning
into a sweet young lady.
Ethan turned 10 June 14th. This year, he
celebrated his birthday at home, instead of CYIA as
he usually does. That was a little different for all of
us, but he still enjoy celebrating. He is appreciating
riding his bike. He had to move to a larger bike this
year. He has enjoyed riding his bike with his friends
from Classical Conversations a few times this
summer. This fall, he will be in 5th grade!
Isaac turns seven (7) July 3rd and will be in 2nd
grade this fall. He also upsized his bike, he now is riding his older brother’s bike. Oh, the joy of being a younger sibling. He does well keeping up with his
older siblings.
Summer seems to always go by too fast. Because
of summer ministry, we don’t often get vacations
during the summer. Yoli stays busy. She helped teach several classes at CYIA. She keeps up with us all and is preparing for home school, which is only a
couple months away.

F inancial update: We are thankful for how the Lord provides through His people. We have been praying for the Lord to double
our ministry to the children in Nebraska. We have asked Him to help us be reaching over 15,000 children by the end of this year. Due to various circumstance, and especially with the challenges 2020 has brought, God will have to do a might miracle for 15,000 children to be reached in Nebraska. To reach them would necessitate doubling our current full-time staff to 15 and doubling our budget to meet salaries and expenses ($700K). We would also need to double the amount of volunteers. We are confident God still can do all those things!
This past quarter has proven a challenge with Covid-19. With jobs being lost, the stock market taking a hit, and our economy not doing well, we have been thankful the Lord has provided through the CARES Act.
Great News: the government has announced that gifts up to $300 are now 100% deductible even for those using the standard deduction. This means you can deduct up to $300 whether you itemize your deductions or not. For donors making a major gift donation, the maximum deduction is raised to 100%. The stimulus package allows individuals to deduct up to 100% of their adjusted gross income (AGI) in 2020. Corporations have a greater incentive to make charitable gifts. The limit has been increased to 25% of taxable income.
