YPTv2 – Training Environment Tips and Tricks(This is based on one user’s PC experience, yours may be slightly different!)

Log in to https://my.scouting.org/ using Google Chrome, Apple Safari or your phone app. If you have never created an account on this website you will need to do so.

Once on the site, click on the YPT icon to get started (right side of the page).

On the PC, the next screen should look like this below. Make sure your POP-UP BLOCKERS are turned off, and hit the “Take Course” link towards the right on the Youth Protection Training Certification line:

The printer icon is highlighted because when you finish the course and pass the test, you will need to come back to this screen to print your certificate. If you have trouble finding this page again, log off and back on once you have completed the test. You will hit the training icon on the front page and it will take you to this screen again.

If this is your first time starting YPTv2 you will need to add the course to your Learning Plan.

If you see two of these - the one that is marked “new” is actually the older training. The training we are after is labeled Youth Protection Training – MANDATORY and has a course date of Jan. 30, 2018 on one of the first slides. Click on the title to add the modules to your Learning Plan.

Your Learning Plan should now look like this – the modules and test are listed separately. Start or resume a module by clicking on the blue LAUNCH COURSE bar in the line.

The course is a combination of videos and slides. During the course if you sense a “lull” in the movement it is waiting for you to advance and the third button in the set below will be dark (you can press it to move on). The course will not let you advance in the middle of a video or slide, that button will be greyed out in that case.

Once you are finished with a module – the “CLOSE COURSE” link will take you to a stats page for that module. One way to get back to your Learning Plan page with the list of modules is to use the “breadcrumb” links and hit the link for Youth Protection Training – MANDATORY. Example below.

Remember the test is required and you need a 75% score to pass. Good luck!!
