Welcome Morry and Kathy Fox
On behalf of all the members, Id like to welcome
Morry and Kathy Fox to the club. In Morrys ownwords, Kathy & I live in Olympia and have beenmarried 37 years this August. Weve been riding
motorcycles since our early teens, road bikes
since 1978. We joined the AMCA in 2002 and
Evergreen Chapter in 2003. We are caring formultiple antique bikes and one modern Harley.
We both enjoy riding, repairing and restoring
motorcycles, just not always in that order. I've
always got at least one project of my own goingin the shop and usually 1 or 2 friends projects. Idon't want to run out of things to do.
Last year they brought an FL to our Silver and
Chrome run. This year Morry brought a beautifulSilver and Red Chief. Youll see his Chief in some
of the run photos. This is Kathys 65 Pan:

Welcome to the club Morry. Were lookingforward to seeing more of you, Kathy, and your
bikes in the future. Thank you for supporting

Saturday, July 23rd Gold Country Loop
Saturdays ride took the group east to Dorena
Lake, then south through the heart of goldcountry to Cottage Grove Lake. In between these
two lakes were several covered bridges, miles of
deserted back roads, small streams and littleused campgrounds. The route included dozens of
spectacular views.
After our photo on the Dorena Covered Bridge,
we headed to Wildwood Falls passing severalother covered bridges on the way. A small day
use area is located adjacent to the falls. Amplemotorcycle parking is available.

Wildwood Falls is on the Row River and is one ofOregons best swimming holes in late summer.Riders were able to walk out to the very edge of
the falls and enjoy the cool breeze and spray

After lunch it was time to start back. A long climb
out of the canyon was rewarded by a rest stop atthe top of the ridge. This gave Jim a chance to
count heads to make sure all had made the top.

Once back at the Village Green, riders preparedfor the awards banquet. Saturdays menu wasBBQ Ribs, Chicken and a Chef special along with

Presidents Paragraph
By Gene Walker
For the third time, my longtime friend of over 48years was anxious to get out of our soggy valleyand head for California with me. Dixon is located
25 miles west of Sacramento, and including a
couple stops, it is a comfortable 10-hour drive.
The AMCA Fort Sutter Chapter was formed 30years ago and this was their 12th annual National
motorcycle show and swap meet and this year
they were honoring side valve engine models. The event is held at the grassy clean fairgroundsoffering on site camping with large restrooms and
showers and RV hookups for only $25 per day.
We stay at one of the four motels in town.
Thursday night TV weather report predicted a big102 degrees for Friday and a scorcher 104 on
Saturday.
Friday morning was already plenty warm whenwe arrived at the fairground and it usually takes
us about 2 hours to set up and arrange all of theparts on tables. For the first time I brought a
motorcycle to sell and my 1948 FL Harley-Davidson sold for full price before noon. Parts
sales were good all day and a hearty breeze tookthe bite out of the HOT heat.
The chapter also offers technical seminars, field
meet, national judging and chapter awards formany categories of lots of vintage motorcyclesbrought in to display for both days. Once again at
6:00 PM the Fort Sutter members delivered an
excellent dinner banquet followed by AMCA
President Richard Spagnollis very informative
talk.
The chapter President followed with praise and
recognition to their members who came thru withanother successful event. Afterwards he invited
all the area chapters to promote their up-comingevents and activities. I spoke on behalf of OTC to
welcome everyone to attend our 20th annual road
run on their way up to British Columbia for the
