Shea Butter

Shea butter has been used in Africa for many centuries. It is produced from an edible nut of a fruit from The Shea Tree or The Karite. The Tree grows in the western region of Africa.

Cocoa Products Semi-finished Cocoa Products These are made from premium Ghana Cocoa Beans. The beans are sorted, roasted, winnowed and milled to produce cocoa liquor. Cocoa liquor is pressed to release the butter and leave a residue of cocoa cake with 10-12% butter. The cocoa cake is kibbled and sold as kibbled cake or milled and sold as cocoa powder.

Cocoa Liquor This is the first commercial product obtained in the processing of cocoa beans but contrary to its name, does not contain any alcohol. Sold under the trade name Portem, our cocoa liquor has a fineness of 98% and a strong rich flavor of premium roasted cocoa.

Cocoa Butter Portem Cocoa Butter has a clear pale yellow color and is produced to meet stringent quality specifications that ensure that make it the product of choice by discerning chocolatiers.

Cocoa Cake Portem cocoa cake is available as natural or alkalized cake.

Chocolate Covertures Chocolate Covertures comes in two varieties, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Usually in 25kg blocks or 100g bars packed 250 in a carton (for easy melting), chocolate coverture is a high quality chocolate with relatively higher cocoa butter content than normal chocolate. It is usually re-melted by the user for use as a glaze, enrobing agent, dip, for moldings, baking and garnishing.
