For students to become successful digital citizens…

 There will be a “visible digital element” to the classroom programme. Students will be using learning tools and strategies.  They will have an awareness and competence for the correct tool for the task.

Students will contribute authentically in online environments.

Cybersafety Yr 0 - 2

•Keep your last name, phone number and address secret when you are online

•Make sure your online friends are your friends in real life

•Always tell an adult if someone wants to meet you

•If something rude, mean or nasty comes up on your screen, quickly press the

house and tell your teacher

•Only say nice things about people online

•Tell someone if people are being mean to each other online

•Only use pictures you have drawn

•Don’t steal other people’s pictures

Cybersafety Yr 3 - 6

•Lesson 1. Suggest you begin with whole class. Discuss what children think is

good online behaviour. Read Super club plus rules. (under badges)

•Lesson 2. Recap rules. Children log on and explore pages.

•Lesson 3. Recap rules. Cyber safety badges.

•Years 4-6 can continue on with badges and then stars. Online moderators and

flag system keep children aware of rules. Teachers need to provide time for

children to use computers.

•Year 3 may need buddy class or more whole class lessons in library.

• All teachers to work towards achieving all stars by the end of the year.

• Teachers to fill in stars achieved on wiki.

Classroom Plan to include:• Designated ‘group’ teaching space that is not directly in front of the whiteboard.

•Projector/ mimio clear so that it can be used for group work.

•Reduced percentage of the space you take with your stuff – eg desk/ shelves/ resources

•Teachers who have a shared space to identify how this is used.

•Spaces for children to collaborate identified.
