Remove the lower trim garnish (Fig. c. 1-4).

Using the panel removal tool disen-1. gage the right side of the garnish.

Remove the HVAC assembly.d.

Disengage the HVAC assembly by 1. pulling straight out. (Fig. 1-6).

Disconnect all connectors and set 2. aside.

Work your way towards the middle 2. and towards the left side.

NOTE: The lower garnish can be removed as one piece.

The HVAC controls may or may not come out with the garnish. Use appropriate cau-tion to avoid damage.

Remove the radio assembly. e.

Remove two (2) 10 mm bolts located 1. above the radio assembly (Fig 1-7).

Remove two (2) 10 mm bolts below 2. the radio assembly (Rollover Image).

Interface Module Installation3.

Connect main power harness to interface a. module (Fig. 1-9).

NOTE: The Red connector is connected to the matching Red connector on the module.

Using your hands, carefully pull out 3. the radio assembly (Fig. 1-8).

Support the radio on a support box 4. (or with other appropriate means) to prevent any damage to the connections as well as preventing scratches.

NOTE: Be careful not to put too much ten-sion on the radio connections when pulling out the radio.

Disconnect any connectors.5.

Mount the interface module.b.

Secure the interface module to the 1. lower left brace inside the radio cavity with four (4) wire ties. (2) Interlocked together and wrapped around the cen-ter of the module. (1) One on the upper left corner and (1) on the lower right corner. (Fig. 1-10).

NOTE: Rollover image shows module with no harness for instruction purposes.

Route microphone wire through the 3. opening of the cluster bezel (Fig 1-12).

Using your hands, disengage the clus-1. ter bezel using.

Pull straight back to remove (Fig. 2. 1-11).

BLU Logic Switch Installation 5.

NOTE: Check to see if there is an open knock-out on the center console. If blank knock-out is present continue, if not present skip to Step #6.

Remove center console subassembly.a.

Disengage by hand or apply protec-1. tive tape and use panel removal tool if needed (Fig 1-15).

NOTE: Start from the back and work your way towards the front.

Mount the microphone.b.

Clean the microphone mounting loca-1. tion with VDC approved cleaner.

Mount microphone on the bottom right 2. side of bezel. Minimize the amount of exposed wire visible to the customer. 0-20mm is acceptable (Fig. 1-14).

NOTE: The microphone should be level & flush with the silver trim and the wire por-tion approximately 0-4mm from the edge of the bezel.

Reinstall dash cluster bezel.3. Fig. 1-14

Continue through the dash toward 4. radio opening (Fig. 1-13).

Connect to interface module. 5.

Back

Remove the left blank plug by sqeez-2. ing the locking tabs together and pushing out from the backside of the console (Fig. 1-16).

Disconnect the spare connector and 3. secure to existing harness.

Mount the switch in the location of the 4. blank knock-out (Rollover Image).

Make sure the solid arrow is pointing 5. towards the front of the vehicle.

Route the switch cable up towards the 1. interface module (Rollover Image).

Bundle excess switch cable and wire 2. tie in place with existing wire looms (Fig. 1-17).

Leave a pig tail that will be connect to 3. the switch.

Cut off excess wire ties. 4.

Run switch cable under plastic heater 5. A/C plenum mount.

Secure with wire tie (Fig. 1-18). 6.

Reinstall center console. 7.

Disengage driver side step cover and a. remove (Fig. 1-19).

Remove driver side kick panel.b.

Remove plastic lock nut (Fig. 1-20).1.

Disengage kick panel and remove. 2. (Rollover Image).

Remove knee panelc.

Disengage and remove.1.

Remove the center knock-out and 2. mount BLU Logic switch (Fig. 1-21).

NOTE: Use next available blank location if center location is occupied.

Route through opening of radio down 1. towards opening of knee panel (Fig. 1-22).

Secure to existing wire loom.2.

Wire tie every 5-6 inches.3.

Cut off excess wire ties.4.

Connect to BLU Logic switch and re-5. install knee panel, kick panel and side step cover.

Connect main power harness to matching e. radio connections as needed.Bundle up excess switch and microphone f. wire and secure them to the dash rein-forcement bar alone with the main harness with two (2) wire ties (Fig. 1-23).

NOTE: AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector may not be present on the vehicle’s harness. Wire tie this connector to the harness un-connected, but ALWAYS connect the AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector into the radio.

If AVC-LAN (12 pin) connector is present on vehicle harness, connect to jumper provided with BLU Logic unit.

Reinstall radio assembly.g.

NOTE: If any other accessories are installed that connect to the head unit, BLU Logic should be the unit that plugs into the radio first.

Reinstall HVAC and lower garnish assem-h. bly.Reinstall both left and right garnishes.i. Reinstall air vent assembly.j. Position negative battery cable at the origi-k. nal factory position (tighten the nut to 36 in-lbs (4.07 N.m).

CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool during removal.

Accessory Function Checks

Major Action Item

Check: Look For:

1 Factory Radio Install fuse (short pin) for the following function checks. Remove fuse (short pin) once function checks are complete.

Turn on the radio and verify that the BLU Logic Module will mute the audio. With the ra-dio on, press the middle button on the Blu Logic switch and verify that the audio is muted.

2 Interface Kit Verify the proper connection of the Interface kit by pressing and holding the middle button on the switch until you hear one (1) beeps.

Pairing the module to a phone is not required. This is the customers (or dealers) responsi-bility.

3 Audio Output Turn the balance to the L and verify that one (1) beep is coming from the left front speaker. Repeat for the (R) right front speaker

Vehicle Function Check

Audio AM/FM Verify the proper operation of audio AM/FM.

Hazard Switch Verify the proper operation of the hazard switch.

HVAC Verify the proper operation of the air conditioning system.

NAV System (if equipped) Confirm navigation operation by AVN diagnostics.

Left & Right Seat Heater Switch (if equipped) Verify the proper operation of the L&R heater switch.

SRS Warning Light Confirm SRS warning light illuminates for approximately 6 seconds with the ignition ON, and then goes out.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Prior to TPMS activation and Pre- delivery Service (PDS) of the Vehicle the TPMS light will blink when IG is turned on.

After TPMS activation and PDS of the Vehicle the TPMS light will illuminate for a few seconds and go off when IG is turned on.

1 3-Amp in-line Fuse

The fuse is located behind the HVAC assembly. To replace, follow Step 1-4 to access the fuse location.

Note: If the fuse is blown, the Hands Free Blu Logic will not turn on.
