Warmer Weather
The warmer weather is very slow to arrive this year, but we are
hopeful more seasonal weather will soon be here to stay! Par-
ents are reminded to take home their child’s winter clothing, i.e.
boots, hat, mitts, etc. As the temperature rises, the students will
enjoy more outdoor gym classes therefore it is important that
your child brings a hat and sunscreen lotion to school. Please
ensure that all articles are clearly labelled to avoid any ‘mistaken
identities’. Please ensure that your child is wearing appropriate
footwear to school. For your child’s safety, fancy dress shoes
with heels, flip flops and crocs are not permitted.
2014-2015 Pre-School Yearbook
Our Yearbook Committee is anxiously anticipating the arrival
of the 2014-2015 Pre-School Yearbook. The Yearbook will
feature all events including trips, concerts, special events, Af-
ter School Courses, class photos, etc. and will be displayed on
72 pages of brilliant colour within an embossed hard cover.
The Yearbook will be a cherished keepsake for years to come.

Parents can order Yearbooks for $40 through the school. There will be a limited
number of Yearbooks available; to avoid disappointment please pre-order your
yearbook as soon as possible. Your Yearbook order form will be distributed
shortly and the Yearbooks will be delivered in mid June.

Registration for 2015 - 2016
The conclusion of the 2014-2015 school year is quickly approaching. Registra-
tions for 2015-2016 are well underway for both new and existing students. As
you already know payment can be made by VISA, MasterCard or Debit card, as
well as by cheque. Please ensure that you submit your child’s registration forms
as soon as possible in order to secure your child’s spot and also so that they can
be placed with their friends next year. We thank all parents who have already
registered and selected TCMPS as the academic choice for their child’s educa-
tion. If you have any questions concerning the registration process or, if you re-
quire assistance completing the forms, please come to the Office and we will
gladly assist you.

Victoria Day - May 18th
All campuses of Town Centre Montessori Private Schools will be closed on Mon-
day, May 18th for the Victoria Day holiday. Classes will resume at their regular
hour on Tuesday, May 19th. We wish everyone a safe and relaxing long weekend.

dents over the year. Invitations for the After School Courses Recitals and Observations will be distributed
to parents shortly. Please RSVP as soon as possible as seating is limited and you do not want to miss these
wonderful events. The After School Courses Winter Session will conclude on Friday, June 12th.

Awards in the category “Best Montessori School”. Voting began on Thursday,
April 30th and the contest closes on Wednesday, June 24th. There will be ballots
in the newspaper that can be completed and mailed in or parents can go directly to

Scarborough Reader's Choice Awards
Victoria Day is a Canadian statutory holiday celebrated on the Monday preceding
May 25 in every province and territory. It honours Queen Victoria's birthday.
In Quebec this holiday is called "National Patriotes Day" (Journée nationale des patriotes).

Jump Rope for Heart
The grade 1 to 5 students and staff of Town Centre Montessori Private
Schools are once again pleased to be participating in Jump Rope for
Heart. This is a fun filled event designed to promote and recognize the
importance of being active and at the same time promote awareness of
heart disease and stroke. Specific details and pledge forms were distrib-
uted a few weeks ago. Our Jump Rope for Heart date is Thursday,
May 7th and the event will take place in the Gymnasium or outdoors,
weather permitting.
On this day students must come to school wearing their regular TCMPS
uniform. Students will be permitted to change into either their TCMPS
gym uniform or TCMPS spirit wear and running shoes. We look for-
ward to an enjoyable and successful event.
TOWN CENTRE MONTESSORI PRIVATE SCHOOLS
We are excited to offer our students an opportunity to witness the metamorphosis of a
painted lady butterfly. Around the first week of May, the caterpillars will be on display
in the Office. Students will observe first hand as the tiny caterpillars transform into
beautiful butterflies, after 23 days. Please stop by the Office and witness their transition!

Chick Hatching Program
On March 25th, our Chick Hatching Program commenced at the Amarillo Campus. The chicks required an
incubation period of 21 days before they hatched. Between April 13th and 14th we observed 10 beautiful
chicks hatch. It was a great learning experience for the students who were very excited to see the chicks, and
even hold the ‘fluffy little ones’. The students were absolutely enthralled to witness and experience this won-
der of life!

Exciting plans are underway for the Summer Fun Camp at TCMPS! Taught
by our own teachers that you know and trust, our students and staff are look-
ing forward to loads of fun in the sun!
The TCMPS Summer Fun Camp is a well-rounded program that combines
academic and extracurricular activities in a seamless program centered on
learning, adventure and excitement, with trips and fun filled activities that
make TCMPS a renowned summer rendezvous.
Our Summer Fun Camp provides safety and security, a hallmark of TCMPS.
Payment can be made by VISA, MasterCard or Debit card, as well as by
cheque. The camp provides either 3 to 5 full or half day programs, and ex-
tended care hours from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., enabling busy parents and
guardians to go about their work knowing their child is safe and enjoying a
well balanced program. Attached is a Summer Fun Camp registration form
for your convenience.

tre Montessori Private Schools. Seating availability is limited as Kids Limo utilizes mini vans for their
bussing services, so we encourage parents to contact Kids Limo as soon as possible regarding their
transportation needs for the upcoming school year. Kids Limo is licensed as a School Bus Operator by
the Ontario Highway Transport Board and is celebrating its 21st year of providing safe and reliable
