Impacts can be positive or negative
Positive impacts are things than benefit the local population and are therefore good.
Negative impacts are things that harm the local population and are therefore bad.
What are tourism impacts?
An impact is the effect something has on something else.
Tourism impacts therefore are the effects that tourism has on the place where tourism is taking place.
If I go on holiday to Spain everything I do whilst I am in Spain will have an impact!
Positive-tourism brings jobs
Negative- tourism brings trouble!
Types of impacts
Economic- these are to do with jobs, money and taxation.
Environmental- to do with the environmentSocio Cultural- this refers to the way of
life of a destination
Economic impacts Positive
Jobs created by tourismMoney-tourists bring money into the
destination and spend it in local businessesTax- tourists pay local taxes which can be
