Welcome and assistance by Helanka vacations representative, transfer to Colombo.
Proceed for a city tour in Colombo and shopping. A drive through the
city will take you to Fort and Pettah – the commercial area of the city
and tree-lined Colombo 7 – Cinnamon Gardens. Colombo 3, 4, 5 & 8
are the prime residential areas of the City. The Hindu Temple at Sea
Street – lined with goldsmith shops, the Dutch Church at Wolfendhal
dating back to 1749, the historic Devatagaha Mosque, Independence
Square, BMICH, Gangaramaya Temple and Colombo Museum are
some of the attractions in Colombo. Sri Lanka is renowned for Ceylon
Tea, Ceylon Cinnamon, Blue Sapphires spices, precious and semi-
precious gems and jewelry in silver, gold and white gold.
There is a lively nightlife at a number of clubs, pubs and dining venues.

After breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya.
Sigiriya holds remains of King Kasyapa’s palace, forever set on the top of the
rock yet, still showcasing their age-old beauty. Numerous eye-catching
highlights in this fortress.
En-route- visit the Dambulla cave temple, a designated a World Heritage site
in 1991. The Dambulla Rock Temple had first been constructed during the
reign of King Vattagamini Abhaya (103 BC and 89-77 BC). There are 5 caves
in the temple and 157 statues of the Lord Buddha, with paintings on the ceilings and walls of the cave. The paintings
of the cave highlight the past of the Lord Buddha and Buddhism in Sri Lanka.

08 Nights 09 Days Climb the Sigiriya rock (Lions rock)- afternoon climb. When entering the
site walk along the Royal gardens which consists of pools, fountains and
unending number of aromatic gardens. As you enter the second level of
the rock, witness the colorful paintings dating back from the 5th
century. Another interesting construction is the Mirror wall, which is
covered with graffiti from the 7th to the 10th centuries AD. The
Audience hall is a part of the royal complex constructed on a rock
boulder. The Cobra head cave is named due to the natural shape of the
rock itself. Sigiriya is named a world heritage site by UNESCO.

After breakfast, advance to Kandy.
Kandy was the capital of Sri Lanka during the ancient times of Kings and
Queens. Nestling midst low hills and looped by the Mahaweli river; Kandy is
a religious city and is one of the most sacred places of worship to Buddhists
in the world. Kandy is named a world heritage site by UNESCO.
En-route- visit the Sri Lankan spice garden- Matale, a vast garden which smells of Cinnamon, Pepper, Cardamom, Nutmeg and many more varieties of spices. Enjoy the nature, peace, flavor and education of the gardens.
Proceed to Kandy and visit the temple of the tooth relic, the crown jewel of
the Kandy city, it is also known as Dalada Maligawa. ‘Maligawa’ translates
to palace and the temple is part of the palace. It has seen centuries of
peaceful reigns and is one of the many historical places in the island. Walk
around the Kandy lake. It is also known as “the sea of milk”, an artificial lake
situated in the heart of Kandy (next to the temple of the tooth relic) built in
1807 by the last ruler/king of Sri Lanka. This lake is highly protected as it’s
considered extremely important in maintaining the decor of Kandy along
with many auspicious stories related to it.
Witness the Kandyan cultural show – A unique show of Sri Lankan traditional dance (fire and harvest dance), which
include an entertaining fire-walking act. The artists dance to the beat of the drums, rising and falling to the lively
tempo.

After breakfast, transfer to Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya is also known as ‘Little England’, known for its picturesque landscape based on beautiful mountains,
valleys, waterfalls and tea plantations. Sir Samuel Baker fell for Nuwara Eliya’s beauty, and started an English farm
with flowers, plants and animals.
En-route- visit the tea factory in Ramboda and learn on the production of Sri Lanka’s famous beverage and witness
the Ramboda falls, it is a unique and beautiful sight that can be seen at the Pussellawa area of Nuwara Eliya, at the
Ramboda pass. The height of this fall is 109 meters.
Start sightseeing Nuwara Eliya by visiting the old brick post office, country
house like hill club and its interesting interior, the 18-hole golf course, race
course, Gregory lake, Strawberry farm and Victoria park.
Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
After breakfast, visit the Botanic gardens in Hakgala, established in 1861.
Highlights include the central pond, lower flower garden, rose garden, glass
house, bulb garden, upper flower garden and the folklores. There is a
collection of flowers such as Lilium, Watsonia, Gladiolus, Agapanthus and
Zephyranthes. The Badulla tree is said to have valuable medicinal
properties. There are many species of birds such as; wood pigeon, southern
crow pheasant, Layard's wood pecker, straked fan tail warbler, yellow
fronted barbetn and Tickell's flower pecker.
Enjoy the evening at leisure.

After breakfast, proceed to Yala and enjoy an evening safari at the Yala national
park.
Yala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1900 and was designated a
national park in 1938. Yala is home to 44 varieties of mammal and 215 bird
species. Among its more famous residents are the world’s biggest
concentration of leopards, majestic elephants, sloth bears, sambars, jackals,
spotted dear, peacocks, and crocodiles.
Overnight stay in Yala.
After breakfast, advance to Bentota.
En-route- visit the Blowhole, which is also known as Hummanaya. The
meaning behind the name ‘Hummanaya’ is the distance a sound of "hoo" can
be heard and is to be the 2nd largest blowhole in the world and witness the
locals stilt fishing.
Overnight stay in Unawatuna.
Early morning proceed to Mirissa and experience whale watching from a Boat.
Breakfast in the boat.
Rest of the day at leisure.
