Adapts to the patient’s morphologyÊ Reduces pressure through increased surface area;Ê POLyAIR® adapts to all anatomy types, particularly as a result
of its internal air channel ventilation, enabling the cushion torapidly adjust to the patient's morphology and protecting fromtissue breakdown.
Cell independence and mobilityÊ Enables effective counteracting of shearingÊ Ensures even pressure in all compartments.
Reduction in the effets of macerationÊ Aeration channels results in improved ventilation.
THE WORKING PRINCIPLES
HONEYCOMB DESIGN(See P.43)
LAXPREN, A MODERN MATERIAL(See P.43)
PRODUCE THOUGH A DIPPING PROCESS(See P.43)
EFFECTIVE, ERGONOMIC & COMFORTABLEÊ Ensures maximum patient contact with seating surface by
moulding itself to protuberances of the sacrum area. Thisresults in extremely effective reduction in transcutaneouspressure values (as measured by 3D pressure imagingdevices) on the buttock areas with little or no counter-pressure.
Ê POLyAIR® adapts to all anatomy types, particularly as aresult of its internal air channel ventilation, enabling thecushion to rapidly adjust to the patient's morphology andprotecting from tissue breakdown.
Ê POLyAIR® is an effective solution in the prevention ofpressure sores in high-risk areas and assists in the healingof previously formed sores.
Ê POLyAIR® is equally effective as a weapon against theeffects of maceration, friction and shear as a result of: - improved aeration in areas at risk;- reducton in tissue deformation;- increased stability as a result of its honeycomb design.
THE COVERÊ An anti-slip base: avoiding any sliding of the cushion from the
support .Ê Liquid proof covers (but permeable to steam and air): suitable
for incontinence ;Ê Reduces maceration effects through easing the skin respiration.Ê Side eyelets :
- enables valves to be pushed inside the cushion after inflating ;- facilitates the flow of air between the inside and outside of the
cover, which reduces the effects of maceration, as a result ofthe cushions’ improved ventilation.
Ê Practical accessory : the removable pocket between thecushion and the support for small change, papers, ...

TWO SEPARATE COMPARTMENTSÊ All POLyAIR® cushions feature dual compartments (left and
right) which act independently from each other. With theincluded manometer and pressure guide chart, they can beinflated at equal or different pressure levels.
Ê This design is particularly useful in rectifying pelvic imbalanceswhile at the same time offering greater stability and comfort.
Rebalancing: improves stability and position

A GENUINE INFLATION SYSTEMÊ Maladjusted inflating impairs the air cells cushions efficiency.Ê An over-inflated or under-inflated cushion can lead to pressure sore outbreak.Ê Since the inflating variations inside of each compartment (few MmHg) can not be detected
through hand feeling, the sole way to inflate properly air cells cushions is to use inflatingtools such as pressure gauge manometer.Only the manometer is able to take into account the weight and contact surface of patientwith the cushion. This method showing constant results grants an efficient prevention.

A simple inflating, thanks to the inflationmatrix and the pressure gauge manometer
Ê In order to determinate the inflatingscore, you need the weight of thepatient.
Ê The measurement of the buttockcircumference reveals the contactsurface with the cushion.
Ê Cross the weight and buttockcircumference on the inflating gridand read the inflating score forefficient pressure sore prevention.

CUSHION MADE OF LAXPRENÊ Laxpren was developed from a specific compound mixture
designed to offer:- adaptability,- tearing resistance,- and pressure maintenance.
Ê Durability was a major factor in the choice of Laxpren. This material makes the POLyAIR® highly resistant to large scaletearing (more resistant than neoprenes and polychloroprenes).
Features and performances of LaxpreneThe Laxpren material has been specially developed by SyST’AM® inorder to get :- an anallergical material (Laxpren≠Latex);- a very extensible material with a very high tearing resistance.Ê In addition, because the Laxpren is worked through a dipping
process, POLyAIR® benefits of a great suppleness, ensuring aperfect response to the inflation pressure.
POLYAIR® : A CUSHION MADE THROUGH DIPPINGPROCESSThe measures below were conducted with the same patient sitting ontwo different types of cushion (a cushion manufactured through dippingprocess and a cushion moulded with compression), both inflated toseveral different levels of pressure.
HONEYCOMB DESIGN :Ê The honeycomb layout optimises the
density of air cells and improves contactsurface and pressure distribution in order tominimise the cutaneous pressures.
