On behalf of its board of directors, welcome to Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC).This world-class facility is a beacon to those seeking a healthy, active lifestyle acrossthe entire physical activity spectrum - from recreational physical activity and sportsenthusiasts to high performance athletes. TPASC is much more than a building - it isa focal point for health and wellness - and inclusivity. It is a place where all members,from individuals new to physical activity, to sports teams, fitness enthusiasts, and highperformance and Olympic athletes, are all welcome.

A legacy of the Toronto 2015 Pan and Parapan American Games, TPASC offers sportsand physical activity programming for residents of the community, University ofToronto Scarborough students, faculty and staff, in addition to recreational and highperformance athletes. The new facility is Canada’s premier aquatics centre as well as

a state-of-the-art training and competition venue, and is home to the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario.

TPASC includes two Olympic-sized swimming pools and an Olympic diving tank. It also boasts four international-sized basketball courts, a rock climbing wall, running track, strength training and aerobic conditioning floors andfitness class studios. Accessibility features include a movable swimming floor to facilitate pool accessibility, instructionand training for individuals with disabilities as well as a variety of shallow-water fitness activities for new swimmers.

Years of planning, development and execution have led to the opening of TPASC. The facility is owned jointlyby the City of Toronto and the University of Toronto. It is a true symbol of the power of sport and collaboration.Its construction and operation are funded by the Governments of Canada and Ontario, the City of Toronto, theUniversity of Toronto, and the University of Toronto Scarborough students. TPASC also sincerely acknowledgesthe contributions from the Toronto 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games Organizing Committee.

We encourage you to tour the facility, obtain a membership, and enjoy the array of amenities offered at TPASCas you work towards achieving your health and wellness goals.

Strength and Conditioning StudioThe multi-level Fitness Centre occupies 20,450 square-feet of bright space and creates an optimalenvironment for strength and conditioning activities. Located on the first floor (lower level), theStrength and Conditioning Studio offers members the latest in health and fitness products includingtrusted manufacturers such as Life Fitness®, Hammer Strength®, Atlantis®, Max Rack® and HamptonFitness®.

Members will enjoy a wide range of free weights (5-130 pounds), an array of squat decks, multi-purposemachinery with boxing bags, lateral training and a Jacobs Ladder® apparatus. More than 50 plate-loaded, free weight and cable-based strength training machines surround the studio, offering membersof all abilities the opportunity to train. Fitness enthusiasts will also enjoy the Olympic lifting platformsand Synergy 360® System.

Storage space for members are available with lockers located both inside and outside of the studio.Several water fountains and filtered water stations are strategically located throughout both levelsof the venue.

Cardio StudioA distinct TPASC Cardio Studio is located on the second floor (main level) of the facility and is accessiblethrough the Strength and Conditioning Studio. The Cardio Studio provides tremendous natural light-ing with floor-to-ceiling windows and state-of-the-art equipment for members.

Most cardio equipment offers members a complete entertainment system with connectivity forpersonal music devices, and includes large displays for television viewing, social media and programstatus information. Users can also register at their cardio machine and have workouts recorded andanalyzed. Treadmills, stationary bicycles, elliptical machines, step and rowing equipment, and morefill this welcoming studio. Industry leaders such as Precor®, Matrix®, Woodway®, and Lateral X® canbe found on the best in-class equipment TPASC members will enjoy.

BarreBarre incorporates various exercises performed at a ballet barre combined with elements of ballet, Pilates,and yoga. Barre exercises rely on bodyweight for resistance while movement challenges core stability andbalance. Barre workouts are designed to help achieve a “dancer’s body:” strong, sleek and streamlined.

Boot Camp FitnessA modern fitness phenomenon, yet classic military style workout that gets results. This high energyclass will test aerobic and anaerobic systems and will leave participants feeling strong and fit.Students should be prepared for both aerobic and muscle conditioning drills that will work toimprove overall fitness.

BOSU®A strength training class targeting major muscle groups using the BOSU®, various equipment andbody weight. BOSU® incorporates balance and bursts of cardio into movements intended to helptone all major muscles.

CyclingGroup Cycling is a high energy, heart-pumping experience open to spinners of all levels. Classes willhelp members reach new fitness levels, jump-start a fitness program or serve as a great cross-trainingtool for existing fitness routines. Certified instructors will participants through a variety of motivatingjourneys that progress through the session.

Dance FitUse Hip Hop dance moves to build aerobic fitness and have fun with your fellow fitness friends.

GlidersThis fun course introduces the participant to the core gliding program which includes generalexercise science for functional and integrated movement as it pertains to flexibility, strength andcardio choreography specific to gliding. The training will cover applications for stand-alone glidingclasses, and gliding integrated into various pre-existing classes.

Groove® MethodGroove ® Method is dance fitness without choreography. Participants move their body in their ownunique way. Designed to embrace all levels of ability and style, Groove ® Method brings out the dancerin everyone.

Japanese Jiu JitsuShorinji Kan Jiu Jitsu encompasses locking, throwing and striking techniques to provide an effectivedefence system. The wide variety of restraint and take down techniques allow for a controlled re-sponse to a violent confrontation. The techniques taught involve using the attacker's movementand momentum against him/herself. It can be used by anyone irrespective of strength, weight orgender. Training is tailored to the individual ability of the participant and a friendly, "club" typeatmosphere is maintained at all sessions. New students do not need a high standard of physicalfitness or flexibility to begin, as participants will find their endurance, strength, flexibility andspeed all improve as training progresses.

Jump RopeParticipants of all ages will enjoy this motivational and educational fitness class where jumpers willlearn to maximize the rope for ultimate fitness. With correct technique, proper equipment and a terrificinstructor, students will gain athletic advantages in speed, quickness, agility, muscular endurance, andimprove cardiovascular health.

Group Fitness

MeditationThis enlightening class will combine yoga and meditation practices to relax the body and free themind from the stresses of everyday life. Through ancient breathing techniques, learn to channelthe inner self and live a life closer to tranquility.

Muscle WorksA medium to high intensity muscle strength class tied with core and cardio. Muscle Works focuseson toning and sculpting muscles, while increasing muscle strength at the same time. The classincorporates various weights, bars, resistance equipment and stability balls.

PilatesPilates is a form of body conditioning movements that strengthen and stretch muscles to promotecomplete conditioning. Emphasis is on concentration, smooth controlled movements, correctbody alignment, and proper breathing. Through Pilates, participants train on the deep musclesof the abdomen, lower back and buttocks allowing the remainder of the body to move safely andefficiently in athletic endeavors, dance and daily life.

Stability BallBy using the stability ball, core muscles are always engaged and participants are guaranteed a fun work-out. Build energy with some cardio and resistance, and then finish with a relaxing stretch on the ball.

Tabata™This amazing, non-stop, never get bored workout is becoming a very popular fitness experience.Developed by Izumi Tabata at the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Tokyo, Japan, the Tabata™formula will push you through 20-second intervals of high intensity cardio/strength exercise followedby 10 seconds of rest, just enough to catch your breath and wipe your brow.

The Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC) will provide users with the best possible facilities toenjoy a wide range of aquatic events. From recreational swimming to water polo, to high performanceswimming and diving, the Aquatic Centre at TPASC will benefit the entire community.

Built to international standards for competition, both the competition and training pools measureapproximately 52.03m x 25m and feature 10 competition lanes of 2.5m each. The volume of waterfor each pool is approximately 3,880,000 litres.

The Training Pool has two moveable floor sections that will adjust the depth up to level with thedeck, allowing for adaptive programming. Modesty blinds are in place to cover all windows duringWomen’s Only or special group training in this pool. AODA accommodations include 2 PAL lifts anda portable ramp for entry/exit from the pool.

The Competition Pool features permanent gallery seating for 2,277 people plus 24 mobility aidedseats. A curtain can separate the Competition Pool from Dive Tank activities and plug-ins allow foran underwater sound system.

One of the highlights of TPASC is the Dive Tank which measures five metres in depth and canaccommodate eight lanes of pool for practice swimming. Permanent dive towers were designedfor 10-metre, 7.5-metre, five-metre and three-metre platform diving. Springboard diving boardsare also available for one-metre and three-metre diving. On-deck showers and adjacent DivingDryland Training Centre complete with trampolines, dive pit, harness rig and cushioned flooringcomplete this world-class facility.

TPASC members will be provided with open lane swimming throughout all hours of operation.

AquafitIntroduction to basic aquafitness moves, posture and balance. To improve core muscle stability,muscle endurance and strength, aerobic endurance and flexibility through participation in shallowand deep water Aquafit classes. Aquafit provides an alternative fitness workout with progressingexercises in the water including jogging, cross-country ski, vertical flutter kick, various arm move-ments and patterns. Use the water to your advantage for personal intensity levels. Students shouldbe comfortable in deep water for some Aquafit classes.

Introduction to Diving - Coming Soon!The focus of this introductory adult diving course is on safety, fun, fitness, and the joy of learningand mastering new skills related to springboard and platform diving. Participants are able to workat their own pace and level of skill development, while following general structured content. Thisexciting course will teach diving safety and basic skills on the 1- and 3-metre boards, includingproper diving positions, arm-swings and hurdles.

Triathlon Swimming - Coming Soon!Many triathletes will confess that the swimming section of a race is most challenging. This course willserve to encourage triathletes to become more accomplished swimmers, improving stroke techniqueand overall fitness levels. Swimming development will be concentrated on specific skills required toimprove the triathlon experience. Triathlon Swimming will be a positive and collaborative environmentfor triathletes of all ability levels.

Water Polo League Play - Coming Soon!Water polo is a great variation from just lengths and swimming lessons. The game is a sociable andcompetitive experience that is great exercise and enjoyable to play. Players of all abilities will be ableto experience a good aerobic workout. This course is designed to introduce you to recreational waterpolo skills, fundamentals of strategy and rules of the game. Learn how to swim with the ball, shoot,treading water techniques and tactics of water polo.

All TPASC aquatic programming listed is included at no additional charge with a TPASC membership.

TPASC Aquatics Programming

Get in the game with the TPASC Sports Leagues. A wide-range of sports with varying degrees ofskill levels offer participants the opportunity to compete at this world-class facility. Register anentire team or sign up individually. TPASC Sports League games are officiated and include recordkeeping with standings and statistics online. All TPASC Sports Leagues will conclude with an All-Star Game and awards ceremony.

Basketball TPASC Open Men’s Basketball League are offered twice a week and features officiated games consistingof two 25-minute halves and running time. Additional leagues for various categories are available withdemand. Register your team to play on the brand new court situated in the TPASC Field House.

Futsal Futsal is the official FIFA and UEFA version of indoor five-a-side soccer/football. Futsal is footballin its purest form - a sport in its own right which does not compete with soccer but serves toenrich it. The TPASC Futsal League will consist of officiated games with two 25-minutes halves.Each team will have four players plus a goalkeeper on the field of play at all times.

Volleyball Spike your way into the TPASC Intermediate Co-Ed Volleyball League. Games will be offered twonights a week and feature officiated competition, in addition to best two-out-of-three setmatches. Additional leagues for various categories are available with demand.

TPASC Climbing Wall

One of the highest of its kind in the region, TPASC offers a 41-foot climbing wall. The popular exercisecombines the excitement of conquering the physical challenge of a vertical plane with the mentalstimulation of problem solving and inspiration.

With multiple routes for varying levels of experience, TPASC provides quality climbing equipmentwith the best safety standards in the industry, led by highly-qualified and personable staff. Climbingroutes will change monthly giving users a variety of challenges.

Members will have access to complimentary drop-in sessions to learn more about climbing. Intro-ductory classes are available to grasp basic climbing skills and gain familiarity with the equipment.Additional advanced climbing courses, equipment rental and private lessons are available.

Fitness enthusiasts will enjoy a full-body workout unlike any conventional group program.

Great for birthday parties, corporate team building and social events, TPASC Wall Climbing combinesadventure and a great physical workout.

Birthday Parties(Land Party)Excite your guests with a TPASC Pumped-up Party. Two-hour packages include one hour in thegymnasium with your choice of activity, and one hour in a TPASC party room for your group toenjoy presents, games and snacks.

(Water Party)Make a huge splash with the next party or event. A two-hour TPASC Water Party package includes onehour in the pool. The second hour of the event will take place in a TPASC party room to continue the fun.

Climbing Parties Popular for social and corporate activities, Climbing Parties provide up to 18 participants with afun and inspirational one-hour journey vertical up the 41-foot TPASC climbing wall. Included withthe cost of the rental is guidance and supervision by a certified climbing instructor.

Field House RentalsThe 35,000 square-foot field house is a two-storey spectacle that includes diverse playing surfacesand a 200-metre track. Ideal for any sport or recreation event, the field house can be rented in itsentirety or in separate venue features.

Multi-Purpose GymnasiumThe multi-purpose floor is a full-sized gymnasium that can be divided with a drop-curtain. Eachgymnasium can accommodate either:

- One (1) full-size basketball court. - Three (3) badminton nets.- Two (2) volleyball courts. - One (1) indoor soccer pitch.

The venue is also ideal for other activities such as wheelchair sports, table tennis, floor hockey,lacrosse, gymnastics, cricket and pickle ball.

Competition GymnasiumIdeal for team practices, games or tournaments, the competition area features hardwood flooring andtwo (2) full-sized gymnasiums. Scoreboards and Daktronics shot clocks with international-standardcourt dimensions highlight the venue. In Showcase Mode, the competition gymnasium transformsinto an ideal setting for high-profile events and houses adjustable bleachers for up to 1,386 seats.

StudiosTPASC offers three different sized studios to accommodate various groups and activities. Each studiofeatures hardwood floors, natural light, eight-foot tall mirrors, audio system and available storage.

Studios can be configured to host an array of activities including fitness, dance, martial arts, self-defence classes, social and cultural functions, seminars, workshops and corporate training. Withmore than 3,700 square-feet of studio space, the options fo rental configuration are endless.

Team Training TPASC is the place where teams train. Sports teams from a wide range of disciplines will maximizethe amenities of TPASC to train both on and off the field of play. Knowledgeable and certified strengthand conditioning personnel are ready to prepare a training regimen tailored to each team’s specificgoals for development. From circuit training, to studio time, to multi-athlete machine utilization suchas Synergy360®, TPASC will ensure your team has the right plan in place to get to the next level.

Corporate Meeting Space Bring the next business conference or corporate meeting to TPASC. Each boardroom and classspace features modern audio and video equipment with areas ranging in size up to 836 square-feet. From the VIP boardroom overlooking the majestic competitive diving tank and swimmingpool to small-sized classrooms, TPASC corporate space is adaptive to the needs of every client.

A legacy of the 2015 Toronto Pan Am and Parapan Am Games, Toronto Pan Am SportsCentre (TPASC) is operated by a new corporation co-owned by the City of Toronto andthe University of Toronto.

The world-class facility is the largest sport new-build for the Games and the largest invest-ment in Canadian amateur sport history. Pre and post Games, TPASC will deliver extensiveprogramming that serves recreational and community groups, high performance athletes,as well as fitness centre clientele.

The 312,000 square-foot TPASC includes two internationally sanctioned 10-lane 50-metrepools, a dive tank and dry-land dive training facilities, a four-court gymnasium, an indoorrunning track, conditioning rooms, a high performance testing centre, studio spaces, anda state-of-the-art fitness centre for members.

The Canadian Sport Institute of Ontario (CSIO), located at TPASC, provides world-leadingsport science and sport performance services.

TPASC opened to community users, University of Toronto faculty, staff and students,City of Toronto program users and high performance athletes in September 2014.
