Agricultural Aide & Agricultural Technician: The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is looking to hire inspectors for seasonal and

parttime work. CDFA operates 16 border stations throughout the state neighboring Arizona, Nevada, and Oregon. The Department’s mission is to prevent the

introduction of exotic invasive species from becoming established in the State of California. The inspector will be responsible for inspecting plant material and

different modes of transportation (automobiles, recreational vehicles, utility vehicles, and commercial trucks) for the presence of agricultural pests and for

compliance with plant quarantine regulations. The inspector will also be responsible to cooperatively work with other agencies related in the enforcement and

regulations of non-agricultural commodities. The stations operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and the incumbent will be expected to work various shifts

throughout the day, weekends, and holidays. The work is mostly done outdoors in conditions of extreme weather and temperatures. The job entails standing for

long periods of time, bending, stooping, and lifting contraband up to 100 pounds. Positions starts at: Agricultural Aide salary starts at $11.37 per hour. Agricultural

Home Inspector: Inspectors primarily complete residential home inspections, using proprietary inspection software, for homeowners and others involved in real

estate transactions. Additional inspections include wood destroying organisms inspections, mold screenings and commercial inspections. The purpose of the

inspection process is to provide clients with unbiased and non-threatening information they need as they make significant decisions regarding the condition of their
