Dear Parents and Guardians, Welcome to Ladue High School! In an effort to ease your transition the LHWHSPA Executive Committee has thoughtfully compiled this information booklet covering all the useful ins and outs specific to this school. Keep it for reference, and feel free to contact us with any questions. Help is only a phone call or an email away. Transitions occur at different rates for students and parents. You may find that your child feels more comfortable sooner than you do in the weeks and months ahead. As your child starts at Ladue High School, it is important for you to also get connected and stay in touch with other parents, your child’s teachers, counselors and principals, as well as with the school itself. One way to ease your transition is to become involved in our wonderful school. Volunteering on a committee is an ideal way to start! Research shows the following benefits from parental involvement: students earn better grades and achieve higher test scores; schools have fewer disciplinary problems and higher graduation rates; teachers are happier; families are stronger; and, communities are strengthened. We have a number of ways to get involved whether you like to barbeque, water plants, proofread or plan a party. As you take advantage of the opportunities to join us, we trust that you will meet other parents, meet the parents of your child’s new friends and have the opportunity to learn from experienced high school parents. We hope you find this booklet helpful. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. It is important to us that you feel at home in the LHWHS community. See you soon! Sincerely, Elizabeth Cobin, President, Jodi Minkler, Co-President 12th Grade Co-VP: Lisa Sheldon & Julie Stern, 11th Grade Co-VP: Kelly Ross & Lisa Witzofsky, 10th Grade Co-VP: Barbara Kahn & Sherri Swanson, 9th Grade VP: Jodi Blucher, Communications: Claudia Krasnoff, Treasurer: Amy Garland, Secretary: Leah Silberman-Bernstein, PDC: & Diane Kalishman & Reagan Minkler, Development: Katrin Mulligan

The LHWHS Parent Association provides a framework and collective voice for parents to integrate into our school community through communication, collaboration, parent education, and volunteer opportunities.

There are three lunch periods each day, noted by A, B, C, on the schedule with Ram 6, Blue 5 or White 6. Your child may have a different lunch period on different days. The schedule should be kept in a binder until memorized. Class instruction and homework begin the first day of school and summer packets are often due. Summer packet information can be found at lhwhs.ladueschools.net/summer.packets/.

Students will then be allowed to leave the building with a pass signed by the attendance office. If arriving late, the student must sign in and get an attendance pass. A call should be made for any absence from school. The attendance phone number is 993-4540. Student forgets an item from home? - Safety is a primary focus for our building. All items must be delivered to the Front Office Staff. Label the item and notify the secretary to contact the student.

Carpool Pick Up – DUE TO CONSTRUCTION: please refer to the most recent correspondence from the High School for car pool. It is also the location for vending machines, the Ram Shack, and the doors to the outside courtyards. Ram Shack – The Ram Shack is a DECA (national student business organization)-run school store located in The Commons area. Spirit wear, school supplies, snacks, and tickets are available for purchase. Rambell – the Parent Association publishes The Rambell student/parent phone directory. Hats are allowed, but many teachers ask students to remove them in the classroom. They are a valuable contact for your student during their first year at LHWHS.
