EPHESUS NEEDED SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Stand up Stand up for JesusYe soldiers of the crossLift high His royal banner It must not suffer lossFrom vict’ry unto victr’y His army shall he leadTill ev’ry foe is vanquishedAnd Christ is Lord indeed!

WE, TOO, NEED TO STAND UP FOR JESUS!

BELIEVERS ARE EQUIPPED FOR WARFARE

Their Position is Secure in Christ

Their Action Plan is Ordained by God and Solid

Chosen by the Father Redeemed by the Son Sealed by the Spirit Lifted from death to life

Be united (no cracks in the collective armor) Help all believers become mature warriors Make known God’s manifold wisdom Declare it to principalities and powers in heavenly places Put on the whole armor of God Always pray!

Eph.6:10

PAUL URGED THE EPHESIANS TO…

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of HIS might

And put on the WHOLE armor of God…

…That you may be able to stand against the wiles

of the devil!

WHY?

Eph.6:11

Because we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against

PrincipalitiesPowersRulers of the darkness of this ageSpiritual hosts of wickedness

in the heavenly places Eph.6:12

CHRISTIAN WARFARE IS SPIRITUAL

2 Corinthians 10:4

THEREFORE GOD’S ARMOR IS SPIRITUAL

The weapons of our warfare are not worldly,

But mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.

• A biblical truth • Given to us by God • Made powerful and effective by God – if…• We know, understand, and ACT on it• Suited for both defensive and offensive tactics

EACH PIECE OF THIS ARMOR IS…

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day,

and having done all, to stand.

Eph.6:13

Stand therefore having girded your waist with TRUTH

Having put on the breastplate of

RIGHTEOUSNESS

And having shod your feet

with the preparation of the GOSPEL of PEACE

Eph.6:15

Above all, taking the shield of FAITH

with which you will be able to quench

all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

And take the helmet of

SALVATION = DELIVERANCE

And the SWORD of the SPIRIT which is the WORD OF GOD

Eph.6:17

PRAYING ALWAYS with all prayer

and supplication in the Spirit;

Being watchful to this end with all perseverance and

supplication for all the saints.

Eph.6:18

AND ABOVE ALL – PRAY!

Standing on the promises of Christ my KingThrough eternal ages let His praises ringGlory in the highest, I will shout and singStanding on the promises of God
