Looked After Children/ Care Leavers
Educational Attainment of Looked After Children (30/9/17)
At KS2 61% of Looked After children who were evaluated at KS2 scored a level 4 or above in Maths compared to 80% of the general school population. For communication the figures were 70% of the Looked after population compared to 79%.
At KS1 A smaller percentage of Looked After children scored the required level 2 than the general school population.
At KS3 the figure is 31 – 37% of the Looked after population achieving Level 5 or above compared to 76% of the general school population.

Data was captured on the current ETE status of 158 children placed in residential children’s homes. 122 of the children were of compulsory school age while 36 children were not of compulsory school age.
• 21% of young people were in Fulltime post-primary education.
• A further 48% of young people were in EOTAS, exceptional or alternative arrangements or on a reduced timetable.
• 20% of young people were school refusers while 2% were suspended or on a waiting list for services.
