Solidiphy is a 3D printer company entering the 3D figurine market. Solidiphy has custom-built a 120-camera digital photo booth powered by a 3D modeling engine by which images are printed on 3D printers.

The target audiences for the figurines are numerous, but Solidiphy has elected to pursue three distinct target markets:

The Celebrity Market: a single digital image can be made to generate high volumes of celebrity figurines for sale to adoring fans.

Reseller Partners: the sale of figurines through partners that service their own select niches, requiring a 1:1 ratio of 3D image generation to a single figurine fulfillment.

Direct to Consumers: lmage scanners are set up at high traffic locations, such as Time Square for individual users. These require a single 3D image generated for every 3D printed figurine.

THE CLIENT

Solidiphy desired a system to support all the options listed previously. Netsmartz was asked to propose, architect and develop a solution that meets Solidiphy’s short term and future needs. The proposed solution needed to include an offline User Queuing Kiosk module, Web-based On-Premise POS, online ecommerce Shopping Cart and Multi-Store Magento integration architecture.

The client needed a robust solution for his business that would take care of all the complex tasks that needed to be achieved.

The client wanted to manage all of his different stores from one place for the sake of convenience.

The development team had to work in a totally controlled environment for the sake of security.

Custom integrations were required in the solution to fulfil various parameters.

Initially the team comprised of 5 members from Netsmartz. Gradually the team size decreased and now the team at Netsmartz consists of 2 members and is managed by the Netsmartz Project Manager.

Development and testing is a continuous day and night cycle speeding up product development and time to market.

We finalized the theme prior to the initiation of the development phase.

Currently we work on 2 week sprints and deliver the release on the staging environment.

We provide a demo of the release to the client before sharing it with him so that we can capture important client feedback at an early stage.

We do regression testing of the complete build deployed at staging immediately after deployment. In this way, the testing in India is completed before the start of the day in the US, giving end customers a smooth user experience.

Daily scrum meetings with the client help in tracking progress and contribute to smooth development.
