Toilet Doors Check out our new toilet door artwork! They look
fabulous and thank you for the lovely comments
on our school Facebook Page.
The Confident Cubicles project started last year
and was initiated and funded by Cessnock Family
and Community Services. The project was aimed
at positive toilet door affirmations and the
research behind this in helping to build self-
esteem and confidence. The project was fully funded and the frames were built by
volunteers at the Cessnock Men’ Shed. A group of students worked with Miss Williams
to design and paint these masterpieces. Our fabulous GA Mr Harmes attached them to
the doors – so a real team effort!
They have turned out brilliantly and have been a real talking point with our students
and made our student facilities much brighter and more attractive! A massive thank you
to Miss Williams and the students involved, for the many hours that went into creating
these doors, as well as to Cessnock FACs for the materials to be involved in this project.
Assemblies Last week we had our first brief assembly without our parent audience. Under the
guidelines, we are only permitted to have assemblies, no longer than 15 minutes.
Whilst it was quick, it was lovely to have everyone all in the same space again!
Photos of award winners were placed on the Facebook page.
Assemblies will continue in this manner until we are advised otherwise.
Illness Thank you to those families who are keeping children at home if they are unwell.
Unfortunately, we are at the start of flu season and based on the current medical
advice, anyone with flu-like systems has been asked to stay away from school. It is best
to be cautious and to try and eliminate the spread of germs wherever possible. Continue pg. 2 …...

Staff are following the same advice and we are trying
our best to ensure consistency of casuals due to staff
illness.
If your child is advised to be tested for COVID, please let
the school know as soon as possible. There are certain
procedures we need to follow in regards to this.
Kindergarten 2021 Is your child’s name on the list? If
not, now is the time to call the
office! More information will be sent
home at the beginning of Term 3
regarding the Tadpoles transition
program.
Uniforms Natalie Harris, our Uniform Manager, is doing a great
job at trying to get uniform orders filled as quickly as
possible. Please be aware that there are delays on stock
coming into the country and your continued patience is
greatly appreciated.
The P&C Uniform shop is able to process orders and an
order form was sent out via the Skoolbag App recently.
Alternatively, if you need an order form, please call the
office and we can send one home with your child.
If you send the order and money to the office, someone
will get the order filled and sent home with your child as
soon as possible.
Donations of clean, used uniforms are also greatly
appreciated for our uniform pool. Various items are
available for families for a gold coin donation.
Term 3 Students return to school after the holidays on
Tuesday, 21st July.
Staff will be participating in the usual Staff Development
Day on the Monday.

Parent Support The current pandemic situation and the unusual
circumstances we have been presented with this year
has seen some children returning to school quite
unsettled, worried or anxious. Please continue to discuss
any concerns with your child’s teacher or consider
contacting your GP to see what support services may be
available to assist your child or family. As a school, we
can also offer advise and guidance to community
agencies and services that may also be able to assist.
The Australian Parenting website
www.raisingchildren.net.au has lots of helpful
information for the whole family and includes a section
on Coronavirus and families.
