    SIX lucky racers were qualified to compete in the Asian leg of the GT (Gran Turismo) Academy andreach the checkered flag in Silverstone, United King-dom, in August 2015.

    From the 15,000 virtual rac-ers from Metro Manila, Ba-colod, Cebu, Davao, and Ca-gayan De Oro, and from the30,000 virtual race trials in 25live events during the threemonth run of the event, only 20lucky racers outraced the thou-sands of virtual racers and only six racers made it to fly to U.K.

    Since the launch of the NissanGT Academy last March 25, thesix finalists—Raphael Miru

    Lesaguis, Luis Cachero, Terrence Aldrich Lallave, Jose Gerald Poli-carpio, Daryl Brady and Joel Ago-

     jo—have also been through “dif-ferent challenges, not only drivingchallenges but also physical, men-tal, and personality challenges,”Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI)President Antonio Zara explained.

    The physical challenges teststhe fitness level of the finalists in-clude push ups, planking, andsergeant jump. Driving challenges,
