It is still one advantage we have over some of our counterparts in the cowbusiness. Hopefully we can get a few months of these cheaper grazing conditions. Wedarn sure need it. Luckily our cattle markets have responded remarkably in thesedry/high grain price times. Demand appears to be excellent and if cattle feeders couldsomehow see a reduction in feed costs who knows how high these cattle could get. Weeasily could have been looking at 6 wt steers at $2/lb. Finally we have several land/farmand household auctions booked in the next several months. We sure appreciate yourbusiness. FED CATTLE/WEIGH COWS TUES.,SEPT. 18TH: Wow did we have quality andquantity on a market that was $1-2 better. The fats were well finished & the buyers suretook off after them. Carcass wts. set an all-time high this week, so even though we haveless numbers we probably are putting more product on the market. Large run of weighups including over 100 weigh bulls. The market was lower and reports have the westernrun in full swing. I'm guessing we'll be lower for the next few weeks. Hoping byThanksgiving we might see a significant upturn in the market. Our next special weighcow auction is Tuesday, Oct 2nd.
