Yreka Holiday Parade/4-H Float Record Keeping

The Yreka Holiday Parade takes place on Saturday, November

26th. The Grenada 4-H club is hosting a float for all of Siskiyou

County 4-H. There will be a float decorating event on Friday,

November 25th at 1pm at the 4-H Office. If you cant help

decorate consider riding on the float on Saturday. The stag-

ing area for all floats is at the intersection of Jackson and Ore-

gon Streets. Please arrive by 4:30 to take part in the 4-H

Float. Wear your 4-H shirts, sweatshirts if you have them and

dress warm. Parade begins at 5pm.

Citizenship Washington Focus is an educational conference for youth ages 15 to 19. Delegates must be at

least 15 years of age by time of travel to participate. Hosted at the National 4-H Center near Washington, D.C, it gives youth the opportunity to explore, develop, and refine the civic engagement skills they need in order to become outstanding leaders.

Through tours in the living classroom of Washington, D.C. and hands-on educational workshops, youth will learn about the history of our nation, the leaders who have shaped it, and how they can apply their enhanced leadership and citizenship skills to issues in their own community.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!!! Conference Only Package: $2949.00 June 24, 2017-July 1, 2017 This 8-day trip is packed with educational adventure as participants tour our nation’s Capital and learn how our national government works. Trip includes a pre-conference day of site seeing plus attendance at National 4-H’s Citizenship Washington Focus Confer-ence which includes touring many of the major sites in the National Mall. Cost includes transportation (air and ground), housing and most meals plus access to the tour sites. Extended Conference Package: $3999.00 June 24, 2017-July 5, 2017 This 12-day trip includes the above conference only package plus 4 extra days of educational tours of Gettys-burg, PA, Philadelphia, PA and Baltimore, MD culminating with the 4th of July fireworks celebration at Balti-more Harbor. Leadership Washington Focus (LWF) is a 4-H leadership program for youth entering grades 7 through

9. The program will take place at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center, just one mile from the Washing-ton, D.C. border. Leadership Washington Focus: $1,999.00 July 16, 2017-July 20, 2017 This 5-day trip is packed with educational adventure as participants tour our nation’s Capital and learn life-changing leadership skills in a conference setting. Trip includes attendance at National 4-H’s Leadership Wash-ington Focus Conference which includes touring many of the major sites in the National Mall. Cost includes transportation (air and ground), housing and most meals plus access to the tour sites.

Registration: Youth* can register for this conference between now and December 15, 2016 or until all spots are filled. A $750 deposit is required at the time of registration.
