Dear Family, Where to start? Let’s start with Beach Reach! First off, a huge thank you to everyone who donated stuff to our garage sale. We had our most successful garage sale yet this year raising $2400 toward the trip. Thanks to East Paris Baptist for use of the van again this year and saving the best for last, thanks to all of you who faithfully prayed all week long! When people are faithful to share the Word, the Holy Spirit is faithful to move! There were approximately 850 students participate this year (8 from PJC). This is the largest group we have ever had. The Texas Baptist Men had two feeding units on the Island serving free pancakes and there were many “winter Texans” who stayed behind to help serve the Beach Reachers as we served the Beach Goers. Altogether we served over 11,000 pancakes, gave 17,316 rides, 52 people got baptized in the gulf and 154 people came to know Jesus Christ as their savior. I don’t have the numbers for it but I know our team personally prayed with nearly every person who got on our van and we were able to encourage many people who knew Christ in their faith walk with Him. It’s always great to see how God moves not only in the lives of the students we are on the Island to minister to, but also how He moves in the hearts of the students ministering. Please pray for them as they are back in the swing of school and routine that the Holy Spirit would prompt them to continue what they started the week of spring break! We have several things upcoming involving the BSM. One of our goals as a team coming back from South Padre is to set up on campus every week and give out free doughnuts and coffee and use that as an opportunity to visit with students and share the gospel. We also have the goal of one day before the end of the semester to set up a prayer tent and pray with anyone who wants prayer. We will also continue our normal routine of Free Monday Lunch, Bible Study and game nights. Several of our students have committed to participating as counselors during the crusade and are working on making plans to participate in both the Kid’s camp and our South Dakota Mission Trip. Coming this fall we have scheduled a collegiate revival event. We are going to target the college and college age students. Please be in prayer as I work out the details for all this to happen. Trying to push forward with the mission of evangelism, I thought it appropriate that I share my daily devotional with you by Billy Graham: Jesus is Alive ! Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.” John 14:19 ESV For personal Christianity, the resurrection is all-important. There is a vital interrelation to the existence of Christianity itself, as well as to the individual believer, in the message of the Gospel. The Swiss theologian, Karl Barth, said, “Do you want to believe in the living Christ? We may believe in Him only if we believe in His corporeal resurrec- tion. This is the content of the New Testament. We are always free to reject it, but not to modify it, nor to pretend that the New Testament tells something else. We may accept or refuse the message, but we may not change it.” Christianity as a system of truth collapses if the resurrection is rejected. That Jesus rose from the dead is one of the foundation stones of our faith. Daily Prayer: Lord, let me live today with the constant thought that You are alive! REJOICE AND BE GLAD … HE IS ALIVE!

Easter! What a wonderful time of year for the body of Christ to celebrate the blessed hope of our Christian faith. Thank God for the crucifixion, but thousands were crucified, only Jesus rose from the grave! Paul and the other New Testament writers paint such a wonderful word picture of the death, bur-ial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because of their message we know that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin! We also know without the resurrection there would be no hope of our loved ones who have died being raised from the grave! This Easter season may we join the first century church by greeting each other with the words. . .”He is alive, He is risen!

It is a busy time in our association life. CIA Day was a great success. A special thank you to Pastor Billy Norris and the wonderful people at Southside for hosting the event and to Alice Ann White and all the leaders who put it on. Another word of appreciation to Dr. Tommy Turner and FBC Paris for hosting the Go Tell Men’s Conference with Dr. Johnny Hunt. There were over 400 men in attendance to receive a powerful motivating challenge from God’s word. A special thank you to Tim Bailey and Casey DeLay for leading the praise and worship at the Men’s Conference!

Ladies, let me remind you of the Go Tell Women’s Rally which will be held at FBC Paris on Thursday night, March 31 at 7:00 pm. Lisa Harper, noted speaker with Women of Faith, will be speaking and Teresa Harmening will be leading the music. Register online at https://gotellwomensrally.eventbrite.com or at Ballard Insurance Agency, East End Auto, or Wikoff Urology.

On May 5th we will have former SBC President Fred Luter at Southside Baptist Church for the Go Tell Prayer Rally. It you would like more information about the Go Tell Crusade or its calendar of events con-tact Anne Pilgrim at [email protected] or call the Association office at 903-785-2890 and speak to me.

The Association office is doing some house cleaning. The following items are available on a first come first served basis: slide projector, overhead projector, film projector, 2 film strip projectors, one electric typewriter, one bubble jet printer, a small portable computer, a record player/radio with speakers, and some other miscellaneous items.

Have a Happy and Joyous Easter!
