Tips for creating a power point presentation
Tips Minimize the number of slides.
Choose font style that your audience can read from a distance.
Choose font size that your audience can read from a distance.
Details To maintain a clear message and to
keep your audience attentive and interested, keep the number of slides in your presentation to a minimum.
Choosing the right font style, such as Arial, Calibri, helps to get your message across. Avoid narrow fonts, such as Arial Narrow, and avoid fonts that include fancy edges, such as Times.
measurements indicate the size of a font on your computer screen, not projected on a screen for your audience in full screen mode. To enable full screen mode, on the View tab, in the Presentation Views group, click Slide Show.

Keep text simple by using bullet points or short sentences.
Use art to help convey your message.
Make labels for charts and graphs understandable.
Use bullets or short sentences, and try to keep each to one line; i.e. without text wrapping.
remove articles such as "a" and "the" to help reduce the word count on a line.
Use graphics to help tell your story. Don't overwhelm your audience by adding too many graphics to a slide.
Use only enough text to make label elements in a chart or graph comprehensible.

Make slide backgrounds subtle and keep them consistent.
Use high contrast between background & text colour.
Check the spelling and grammar.
Rehearse before presenting the topic.
Share the presentation in non editable form with the clients / end users
Choose an appealing, consistent template or theme that is not too eye-catching.
Themes (theme: A set of unified design elements that provides a look for your document by using colour, fonts, and graphics.) automatically set the contrast between a light background with dark colour text or dark background with light colour text.
Check the spelling and grammar.
Always practise / rehearse before presenting the topic. One can do it in front of the mirror or with a colleague.
Save as the presentation with the power point show option. Users would not be able to make any changes in the presentations.

Details Make sure that all equipment is connected
and running.
Practice the presentation so that you can speak from bullet points. The text should be a cue for the presenter rather than the full message for the audience.
If you plan a certain amount of time for your presentation, do not go over. If there is no time limit, take less time rather than more to ensure that people stay engaged.
Don’t distribute the handouts in the beginning the same could be shared with the participants later.

numeric values or data. Charts are designed for numbers Create a bar chart or column chart. Create a line or XY scatter (data point)
chart. Create a stock chart, used to graph
various stock prices. Create a surface, donut, bubble, or
radar chart. Link to live data in a Microsoft Excel
workbook. Update your chart automatically when
numbers in a Microsoft Excel workbook are updated.

Short Cut Keys
To Open A New Slide:-
Type “powerpnt” in the run command
One can customize the short key for opening a new slide i.e. Right click on the power point icon-> In the short key box put “Ctrl + Alt + V”(any alphabet of your choice)->Apply->Ok.
To do spelling check:-
Press F7

In the slide pane, type text directly onto the slide, within the placeholder
On the left is a thumbnail version of the slide you're working on. This area is the Slides tab, and you can click the slide thumbnails here to navigate among slides.
The notes pane. Type notes that you'll use when presenting. You can drag the borders of the pane to make the notes area bigger

Click the slide thumbnail that you want the new slide to follow, and then press ENTER.Or:Right-click the slide thumbnail that you want the new slide to follow, and then click New Slide on the shortcut menu.[ Same step in case of duplicate slide.

Activities:-
To insert a business logo and that has to appear on all the slide. To avoid adding it manually on every slide – select the slide then – view(toolbar)- Slide Master – Insert – Picture(option)- select the required picture `- Insert.
Once the picture gets tagged you ‘ll see that automatically it appears on all the slide. As required position the same in the header and you can resize the picture as well.
As the formatting done close the slide master view.

Insert Files
When there is a requirement to add files which could be accessed from others' system as well then click on InsertObjectCreate file fromSelect the fileDisplay as icon ok
Note:- Case1-In case you select an option Display as icon then to access the file while
running the presentation we need to skip the slide view. To avoid such situation we should not go for Display as icon then we can have the data displayed.
Case2- When you want the audience to have the file then opt for “Display As Icon "option. Easier to save the file.

Note Pane is used for detail description about the topic and is useful while taking a printout.
For representing the data pictorial way you can use Chart options as required(On Toolbar - Insert option – Charts)
You can use SmartArt Graphics to make the presentation more presentable.
Formatting – of shapes could be done i.e. Different colors to fill in the shape; outline the shape.
